Yeah they were headlining Thing a few years ago when JFW and I went to see... other bands. The format held them to a shorter set but we wandered off anyway.
ad they have some catchy, "pop" like tunes, so they can craft a decent song.
New album reaches back to some 80s stuff...
Very good band, but here's my unsolicited feedback:
If you start the show at 7:50, say the show starts no earlier than 7:30...not the stated time of 7:00. By the time the second set started - after a 35 minute break - this old man and wife were sitting on that bench for over 3 hours already.
I love a good jam, but not every song has to be a 10-20 minute exploration of the boundaries of a tune...
I notice many of the jam bands like Goose, Umphrey...have a certain formula: start the song as written, go off into new territory, get lost, maybe into a dark space with lots of minor chords, half notes & flashing lights that could set off a seizure, and then find the triumphant return....ba,ba, BAAA!
A one or two minute solo can work, then find the melody and chorus again, and wrap it up after 5-6 minutes.
But again, very good band.

I mean, Bozeman gets a lot and Billings gets some but Missoula gets them all.*
*of bands touring the PNW, anyway. They just had 2 sold out LCD Soundsystem shows. Did they play anywhere else within a day's drive? NO. (Missoula being six hours away if I don't stop for sushi).

Going to Jackson to see the Old 97s (for free!). After a few decades of always missing them, we've gotten to see the Old 97's a couple of times now. Hoping this venue is cool and fun; the other place we've seen them is a boring concrete box.
So I just turned on RP and the first song I hear is from Samantha Fish's new LP, Paper Dolls. One of the ones she played last night when she ripped the roof off the venue. This is an artist that I probably wouldn't have been exposed to if not for William and Radio Paradise.
As soon as she will tour in Europe I will check the dates, because - thanks to RP - she has been one of my favourites in 2026 so far.
The other 20s girl I'd love to see is Goldie Boutilier, who is currently touring, but only with a drummer and a guitarist (according to some recent videos on Youtube): it's a shame because her songs have great orchestrations and she deserves a real band. Great show! Third time in about seven years that we've seen him and he doesn't disappoint! Only issue was the lead guitar was mixed a little too loud - it was in a pretty small, intimate venue, so that really wasn't necessary.
