I'm still going to rehab twice a week to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles to control the leaking. The leaks are far less now but still bad enough I have to wear protection. Also after a few months I developed a pain in my groin area when I cough or sneeze. Been to the doc twice and so far they have no clue what it is. I had laparoscopic removal and the pain is under wear the incision was for the drain tube. I had a similar problem months after my lung cancer surgery in 2006 that was also under where the drain tube was. That turned out to be an adhesion and was told they'd probably make it worse if they tried to fix it with more surgery and told me it would eventually be reabsorbed. It was but it took about 2 years to go away. I suspect what I have now is the same kind of thing. Just like back in 2006 once you get it hurting it takes about 2 weeks for the pain to stop each time. Not fun. So far they have only done x-rays and blood tests which are normal.

My comment on this is not a new one: internet folks love to talk about how much they know when they donât know shit. After my experience so far with prostate cancer I can see how it can be misdiagnosed initially. Over about 3 years my PSA went from 1.1 to 3.5 to 4.2 and then 4.6. Towards the end I had BPH symptoms even though my prostate was not enlarged.I also had on and off groin pain. Also over that time I had 2 ultrasounds and each time I was told my prostate had calcium deposits from chronic Prostatitis and that was what was causing the PSA increase and symptoms. Even an MRI was inconclusive. The first biopsy I had was non-targeted and showed no cancer. The second biopsy was targeted and got a Gleason score of 3+3 (6) and stage 2C. The"calcium" deposits turned out to be cancer. One lobe was 50% cancerous and the other 33%. The "c" means that there is cancer in both lobes and at least 50%. The cancer could have been caught at stage one a year before had the first biopsy been targeted. The biopsy of the actual prostate after it was removed showed no signs that the cancer had escaped but I still have to get PSA tests regularly to make sure it isn't cropping up somewhere else later.
Sorry to hear, Dave.

Iâm going in today to meet with my eye surgeon for cataract pre-surgery measurements. I hear itâs the most common surgery in America & no big deal. But itâs my EYES man!

Iâve turned it over to my Higher Power & Iâm actually looking forward to it. Itâs an old man thing, at least thereâs a solution.
Had one of mine done a month ago. Absolutely boring. And now when I wake up I can actually tell if Iâm in my own room or someone elseâs again.

I hope your surgery goes well. I had mine removed almost 11 years ago and have had better that 20/20 vision since. I can even read small print without glassesl. My vision today is better than when I was in high school. The process is quick and painless. Be sure and do all the eye drops, no mater how much of a pain it becomes.

Did I ask for any sympathy or anything else from anyone here ?
But as you all wish. The tribe has spoken.
You did not.
I donât belong to any tribe here or anywhere else. No one speaks for me.
Youâve got a lot going on, Kurt. Take care of yourself and rise above it. One day at a time, do the next right thing. This place is way down on the list, if itâs on the list at all. At least for me.

I just did what I and many others here have been doing for years in this thread which is posting stuff about medical events in their lives. There are several of us here who have some long lasting medical issues where we touch base with each other. Without involving politics.
Until now this was a political free watering hole where we all got together here discussing all kinds of things, asking for help, receiving help, providing help and information about medical developments and nutrition among many other things. Without involving politics.
Well you all have now permanently poisoned the water here in this thread with your partisan stuff.
You cannot undo what you did here. But why should things be different from everywhere else ?
We just cannot have anything nice anymore especially since people are now refusing to see past someone's politics. Period.
It is comforting to know that thoughts regarding outcomes of medical issues are now predicate upon the patient's political leanings.
We've come a long way, in the wrong direction. But that's just me evidently.
Hey, thats how YOU and YOUR party feel about most Americans. Y'know, J-6 beating cops ok; letting women die from religion based laws,
Obama Care= bad, Capitalism= good. Spare us the Selective Outrage and Convenient Store Concern in YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, dude. What you've expressed to others comes back. It's called Karma. Own up and stop the whining. No excuses.
Or gain compassion for others and gain some for yourself. YOUR CHOICE Mr. Selective Morality.
I say this in the music comments, too: I think itâs absolutely appropriate to say âI hate that bandâ but the rejoinder to that, in polite company at least, is âWell, I love it. The drumming is tight and the guitarist is talented.â but not âwell then youâre an idiot.â
Similarly, as you all have probably sussed that I think Trump and his colleagues are abominations and responsible for the destruction of American stability - and I do extend that to a bit of schadenfreude at times when their horrible thoughtless selfish racist ignorant illegal plans hurt the folks who voted for him - I canât quite bring up a Grumpy Cat âgood youâre sufferingâ and instead have tried to settle for âwe tried to warn you and now we canât help any more.â
Now, I have to stop and admire that I made a sentence that long.
A certain individual has repeatedly spoken out Against the Assistance to others in 'unfortunate' circumstance and acted as though it was a personal flaw that should be handled in a tough, manly way, without the help of the Federal Government.
I am not Christ and I refuse mercy to someone who too frequently refuses mercy to others. Karma is clear: You get what you give.
Don't expect sympathy when none is given.

Off to have a PET scan and see what lights up. Oh boy.
This is also the 16th anniversary of the beginning of my transplant
How much do you co-pay? This surely must be a financial strain as well as physical.
How do you feel about #47 and Republicans gutting of Medicaid / Medicare/ SS staff?
Should we feel sorry for you if anything doesn't go quite right? You don't seem to have the same sympathy for others.

I'm tempted to point out that the PET scan was invented by one of those institutions targeted by the current administration, but that feels inappropriate.
Saw the neurosurgeon this afternoon and the verdict is: the aneurysm is small, regular, in a good spot, and stable with "no need to try to fix it" at this time. I'll get imaging done again at the year mark, and see if it has changed at all. WHEW!
Nice!
A good diagnosis can be like a new lease...on life.
