ð¢ï¸ U.S. Treasury Issues Third Extension of Russian Oil Waiver â as Tasnim Reports Washington Has Agreed to Suspend Iranian Oil Sanctions During Negotiations
ð¹Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced Monday a new 30-day general license allowing âvulnerable nationsâ to access Russian oil currently stranded at sea â the third iteration of a waiver first introduced in mid-March after the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran triggered the largest oil supply disruption in history.
ð¹The waiver was first issued in mid-March, extended in April until May 16, and Bessent had previously said the Trump administration would not renew it a second time â before issuing todayâs third extension regardless.
ð¹The measure aims to ease acute energy shortages in Asia and other vulnerable economies while, Bessent said, reducing Chinaâs ability to stockpile discounted Russian oil.
ð¹The announcement came on the same day Tasnim News Agency â citing a source close to the Iranian negotiating team â reported that the United States has accepted in its new proposal to waive Iranâs oil sanctions during the negotiation period, a significant departure from earlier U.S. texts. The U.S. has not confirmed the offer, which would reportedly remain in place until a final agreement is achieved.

I saw over $7.00 a gallon in Amboy, California last Saturday.
Well, Amboy is in the middle of nowhere... but there were almost 200 cars there for a car show. They were celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Route 66.
the only way to beat the oil gains, trumps regime aimed at dominating the industry and the funding of wealthy shareholders is to cut your usage or to go off grid. We're being manipulated into thinking we cannot do without it. Look at the corresponding amount of electric gadgets advertised. But be honest with your usage.
I'm hearing here in my part of the world that gas price is going up 8.9 cents (CDN) a litre tomorrow and apparently another 10 cents on Friday. So that's about 33.7 cents per US gallon tomorrow and 37.85 on Friday.
I sure wish California had the prices everybody else has everyplace else.
Thank you Governor Taxus Maximus Newsom.
California is keeping the U.S. average price for fuel up.

I've got about 18K miles in road trips over the last year and half. Mostly up and down the west coast, but also a loop through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Oregon. California has the most spendy gasoline, but they also have the nicest roads and facilities.

I can't help but think forward to the day when we all drive EV's or some other sort of vehicle that isn't powered by gas. Then when this sort of geopolitical disruption occurs we can just whistle on our way out to unplug the car and off you go.
