We are so blessed with talent and artistry in NC. All levels.

Sugaree String Society - A young, local couple that's been playing around town for a year or so - mostly free shows (play for tips essentially) in bars or clubs which have room to play music.  Traditional Appalachian/Folk/Bluegrass styles.  Sample their new record on Bandcamp if desired.  Nice, friendly folks - Jodi has a lovely voice.

These guys are somewhat "discovered" by now.  They put on a good show.

I admit the first time I saw them was because I thought their name was cool.

I liked it tho. But then, I like Joanna Newsom and Beirut, too. Diff'rnt strokes & whatnot.

Yeah, kind of standing on the edge of dissonance without falling over into obnoxious.

From the Napa CA area
I sent their album to BillG as an iTunes gift but he hasn't picked it up yet.

Not exactly undiscovered, but I have been wondering why his career hasn't hit the ultra-bigtime. Maybe because he doesn't write a lot of original material?

This guy doesn't need any help, but wondering if you guys have heard of the new sensation who has just busted out in Columbia SC to hit the big time; Toro y Moi? It is good stuff and actually would fit in here, I will upload some when I have the slots.{#Music}
