Yep, I've been having that same issue for a while, likely several weeks.
I cleared cache, data, un/reinstalled, & restarted, but am still getting black text on dark gray background for the rating and lyrics..
I have RP 4.11.2 on Samsung S23 running Android 16, One UI 8.5.
Does anyone have any ideas!
Thanks!

Even though I've been a huge supporter of open source software, and have contributed in (very) small ways to a few projects, I hadn't really considered that move. I'm not sure why.
The biggest impediment would be the fact that the codebase of the new app uses React Native for its base structure, with audio playback and file management handled by native modules. We've been building this architecture for well over a year, and I've come to believe that React adds way more problems than it solves.
What our developer has built now works quite well, but isn't agile & extensible enough to keep up with today's social and tech evolution. The pace of that is not likely to slow down... And we can *not* sustain the development costs involved. You'd no doubt be appalled at how much we've spent so far. And we're not even close to finished.
I think we would be much better off with entirely separate apps, written in Kotlin & Swift. And there is absolutely no reason not to open-source those.
I just had a thought. While our public iOS app is React Native, the Android version is still in early testing (which I'll happily sign you up for if you like). The current public version is our 5-year-old Kotlin app, which actually works quite well in almost every respect. Just missing a few features, and with some obvious room for improvements. It was written by Jarred, our tech lead, who is now so busy with other projects that it had to come off of his plate. But perhaps that would be a better starting place for an open-source Android app than the new codebase. I'll talk that over with the crew.
I also really like the idea of supporting people who are finding ways to route around censorship. IMHO people in "the west" consider themselves immune from challenges faced by those in Russia, Iran, China, etc. I don't think they're right. I see censorship at work everywhere in our online culture. Often it's in service of capitalistic rather than authoritarian priorities, but it's still a blockage in our cultural flow.
Personally, I really like the responsiveness of your previous app. React Native must be convenient for wrapping web interfaces in native UI, requiring almost no cross-platform development. But it probably won't provide the same responsiveness across a wide range of devices, from different years of release, as the Kotlin version. And judging by my experience, more mature technologies cause fewer problems.
Who knows, maybe the two apps can even develop in parallel. Different levels of software abstraction, different methods of developer collaboration. A friendly competition between RP official and RP community edition, haha.
I just thought that developing an app for a radio station like yours is the perfect "pet project" for any programmer tired of their usual work. And if you highlight the fact that you're creating a public repository, it's hard to imagine how many people might be interested. However, overseeing the development of a project with a large number of contributors is a whole other challenge xD

First, I'd like to add the option to display additional debugging information. What's the download speed, how much time is remaining, how many connection attempts there have been, and so on. It's very frustrating not to know how music is downloading or even if it's downloading at all.
Of course, once the build pipeline is set up and the app's architecture is understood, other improvements will naturally follow. And I'm sure I'm not the only tech-savvy user who would be happy to help develop the app. Once the source code is published on an open platform, more accurate bug reports and pull requests will appear. I'm afraid to sound intrusive, but in my humble opinion, this is simply an inevitable step.

Clicking on the skip button does nothing, although it does work on all other channels (Main Mix, Mellow, Rock, etc.), just not on the favourites one. Would it be possible for the dev to look into it? Thank you in advance...

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share how much Radio Paradise has enhanced my travel experiences. Recently, while on a long road trip, I tuned in to RP and was completely taken by the seamless mix of genres and moods. It felt like the soundtrack to my journey.
One particular moment stood outâdriving through a mountain pass while a hauntingly beautiful track played in the background. I wish I could remember the name! It got me wondering: how do you all use RP in your daily lives or travels? Any special playlists or memories?
Also, if thereâs a way to find that track again from a certain day/time, Iâd love a pointer.
Thanks for the vibes,
