Harris and Walz both own guns. This wacko attitude of ALL or NOTHING regarding guns is the usual Chicken Little droppings of Right Wing Media. No One has ever said they wanted to completely take your guns away. But women and those loaded uteri need to be regulated heavily....

I was primarily hoping to get some sort of response from dave.  He never does though.  He ends up getting off the hook because everyone else seems to step in on his behalf and he ends up never having to respond to any questions about his posts.   I guess that I should have learned by now that that will never change.

It ain't the guns. It's the people.  It goes back to one of the two takeaway lines I remember from good old Politically Incorrect.

Marilyn Manson said, it is the abusers who make the users look bad.

So you think guns are the appropriate response to people saying things you don't want? And it's the fear of reprisals from you that keeps them in line?

Your world view continues to be dark and wrong.

Not gonna argue that the people aren't the problem.

Oh, and while we're at it, let's easily give them lethal weapons of mass murder. That's what civilized nations do.

Good news is that it wasn't a school. Bad news is that it looks like we need to harden our interstate highways and we all need to buy bulletproof cars, there simply is no other solution.

Many of the injuries were from auto accidents.  We need to teach people how to drive more safely after being shot.

Here's how we get rid of AR-15s/AKs/etc.

Immediately ban the sale of them to private individuals. Inventory of gun dealers would be bought by the federal government and weapons/parts/etc. destroyed.

Immediately ban the sale of replacement parts/magazines for them.

Immediately ban the sale of ammunition/cartridge cases/reloading dies for them.

Offer to buy all of the above back at a price well above their market value.

Require every owner to register them - and pass the same background check - under the same rules the regulate fully-automatic firearms. These regulations mean that the BATFE can come to your home and demand to see said firearms and inspect their proper storage at any time.

If a crime is committed involving one of said weapons, mandatory 20-year sentence for the owner - even if the firearm was stolen. If the firearm was stolen, that demonstrates improper storage/handling of said weapon.

In a few years, they'll be gone, or out of ammunition.

This involves no confiscation whatsoever; unless storage requirements are not complied with.

Let the thrashing begin.

+1. worked in New Zealand too

"I strongly believe the vast majority of legitimate gun owners in New Zealand will understand that these moves are in the national interest, and will take these changes in their stride,’ said Ardern. Hundreds of New Zealanders have voluntarily surrendered their weapons to police, and a government buy-back initiative will enable people to dispose of firearms that are now banned."   Jacinda Adern back in the day.
