Oh I left out that part: A guy we know here in Wyoming lived in Ukraine since the revolution there. There's a longer more entertaining story but he has a company there and has done really well. So when Putin invaded, he went all-in with getting in front of congress to rally support. He bought a house in DC that visiting lobbyists and industry heads can stay in when they're in town but otherwise it's empty except for the caretaker. So thru this connection, CFW gets to stay there when there's a room available.
Now he's back in Montana to go back to his real life, working in the laundry for Yellowstone Park's hotels.

I've got 4 kids. 3 take and ask for advice. One still argues with me on every point.
Guess which one is having the most growing pains in their 20s?
CFW got invited to Washington DC (area) for a birthday party. It didn't take long to realize he could do it... so he booked a ticket and waited for the day. His parents did their best to stay out of it but I did offer advice on scheduling. He opted to go for the lowest price, which routed him to Portland Oregon before turning toward the correct body of water. AND it left at 5:30am. And would arrive at 4pm (rush hour). All in all, he ignored several bits of advice, which is his prerogative when it's his money. But this morning I got a text letting me know he slept through his alarm and was so, so hooped. But after clearing the cobwebs, I saw that he could get a one-way ticket for $150 that arrives 10pm. Not ideal but okay (he's staying at a house set up for diplomats that's owned by a friend and he can stay there when there's nothing going on in DC), he'll have to beg the manager of the place to let him in but I think he'll be okay.

May I just say that it was a pleasure watching Chuckles grow up, from afar...I especially liked that period when he wore his life preserver everywhere he went. He seemed very safety conscious.
Went by fast didn't it? Sheesh
A blink of the eye for us, probably a blink or two more for Scott.
