Crowds of people wait for me
Sea gulls scavenge
Steal ice cream
Worries vanish
Within my dream
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
Fishing boats sail past the shore
No singing may-day any more
The sun is shining
The Water's clear
Just you and I walk along the pier
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
A cool breeze flows but mind the wasp
Some get stung it's worth the cost
I'd love to stay
The city calls me home
More hassles fuss and lies on the phone
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control with you,
And living, living,
And I, living, by the sea
Well, as I've input before, "some folks like less cheeba, but I'm ok with More Cheeba!"
More venison for Van Morrison!
I must admit that it took me some 20 hearings of the song and looking at the album cover before I finally noticed a woman in the foreground . Is this called naive, or I just have inclination towards Buddhism?
never really looked at the cover close, but never noticed her either. Skye's lovely voice distracted me. Yeah, that's it!
Wiki: By the end of 2003, the Godfrey brothers split with Edwards, citing creative and personal differences.[25] Edwards received "a phone call from our manager saying that it was over. It was a relief to think we didn't have to continue".[26] She was under the impression that the band had ceased to operate.
Not quite, but shows the way.
Fixed. ;)
If this depicts only 1% of your life experiences, you should not worry.
Where is this fish & chips shop again?
I know the sentiment (both furniture and music-wise)!
I always liked this track by Morcheeba, one of a few that my (now long time ago ex) girlfriend brought to our relationship (along with Mazzy Star, Portishead, etc.) and thankfully I ripped all those CDs for her/me (and OMG I found out quick how much I HATED iTunes and Apple in general) and we partied hardy in the Seattle UDist (Go DAWGS!) - I think I have some great memories from those days - just need to clear the mental cobwebs and scrape the resin off my neurotransmitters ;-)
Long Live RP!
**EDIT** After all these years, it finally dawned on me what sounded familiar about this tune. For me, it has a total Summertime vibe to it. Have I asked for more Sam Cooke yet? Long Live RP!!We still have a table just like that. 70's retro - yeah!
P.S. Awesome guitar towards the end, a moment of genius.
feels like laying in the ocean with a slow ripple floating me along
sun above sea below
warm and cool at the same time
Yep, just decided to up the ante too.
The Sea & Me
Sure, she has this amazing ability
She's instantly making friends with herself.
Sure, she'd teach me one or two things.
But now I'm hellbent to find out
Who's who & which is which
Wac, wac, wacky wacka wacka
More Cheeba.
Dude —Skye could read anything drab (ie: the phonebook -that thing delivered on the doorstep that goes right into the recycle bin) and it would sound AMAZING riiiiight?!
Smooth as a premium glass of scotch
I guess that's an East End accent - pronouncing an "L" more like it's a "W". I could be wrong.
I always think of Brighton when I hear this....Merry Xmas rpeeps.
Radio Paradise dot Calm.
That is what I was hearing also. Both great

2000? (*giggle*)
I get that...really I do...the giggle is nothing but me feeling old.
Likewise. By 2000 my last spliff was 17 years behind me. Still trying not to feel old though. Involves avoiding mirrors a lot.
b) Super cool.
c) Both.
d) Super.
e) All of the above.

OK it may have been in the late 90's . But you shouln't feel old(saxon), you're an RP listener !

Did all that rock out, drive too fast, climb the water tower shit years ago. Now? Chillin'. Just like Morcheeba.
b) Super cool.

Sublime...classic stuff! Listening to this on hols in Portugal a few weeks ago...mmmm
Definitely the same genre, however this album was released Mar 1998. Air's "Playground Love" came out Feb 2000, and Zero 7's first album came out June 2001.
Radio Paradise dot Calm.
That seems to happen a lot when I listen to RP...
Nice collection of music chosen by human ears and taste... Like a good friend saying "Listen to this..."
The Stills-Halo the Harpoons into Morcheeba-The Sea........oowahhh...nice groove on a Friday night!
Wonderful song, wonderful album, wonderful cover art.

which I watch over and over. The music is perfect.
"Five-year old" is overly harsh. The lyrics are pretty simple, but they at least rate a clever teenager.
Oh, you're right, Ziggytrix - still, I think "Tape Loop" is one of my favorite songs, and betcha can't figure out why... (Hint: La Femme Nikita.")
Ahhhh! Good times down by the sea. Hearing the lines moving against the sailboats....
Yes! Perfect music to get me ready for a vaca at the Joisey shore.
That'd be either DJ Swamp or DJ First Rate duckin' around on the turntables.
well, I don't know many songs of Morcheeba, but I like "Aqualong" even more.
She does have a way about her.
R-P is an expensive habit... But I really enjoy it. Thanks for the -humans- making the mix... no more robot algorithms ever again...
Oh, is *that* where duck sauce comes from.
Some get stung; it's worth the cost....
