Shots rang out, all the people ran.
Confident in our innocence.
Promises out in the wilderness.
I know, I said, I would,
I know, I said, I would.
The martyred sons of a forgotten fit.
Bend a knee for your favorite.
So foolish in their innocence.
Promises out in the wilderness.
I know, I said, I would,
I know, I said, I would.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
It's not too late to turn your back on them.
What kind of friend would lead you to your death?
Don't be foolish in your innocence.
Break the promise in the wilderness.
I know, you said, you would,
I know, you said, you would,
I know
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
I know, you said, you would,
I know, you said, you would...
Boxer Rebellion on Drugs
Knew it reminded me of something... you nailed it
This song was my first submission a couple of weeks ago. I just came home from work, turned on RP and heard it for the first time. I'm really happy that it was accepted and that you guys seem to like it.
Well done quintana! This song spurred my purchasing of their albums a few years back. I especially love this song.
Boxer Rebellion on Drugs
Yes, an initial TWoD aroma with a strong BR aftertaste. A pretty tasty cocktail.
Boxer Rebellion on Drugs
Not after the first minute.
A War on Drugs b4 there was a War on Drugs.
the Drugs predate this. Lost in the Dream, their 3rd album, came out in 2014. Same year as this.

Thanks for the link, this version is really good!
Hold your end up by writing some lyrics.
Exactly.
My only song suggestion that ever got accepted.
Glad that it's still being played more than 2 years later and that it managed to surpass the 7.0 rating.
A nine for me.

Great song, thanks. Pretty awesome acoustic version here from 2014: Delta Sprit - WFUV session
(a bit of U2 and a touch of Coldplay, but decently darker)

I just rated it a 7 out of the gate. Got my attention right away with the lovely 'atmospherics'. Terrific build late song; this song inhabits its own sonic space. There is a earnest quality to the song of the kind that provides a great antidote to the current weary cynicism that surrounds us.
quintana: Thanks for suggesting. Be patient, I expect the following for this song build.
Thanks friend. It's in safe hands here.

But what kind of friends will bring you to your death ?
They don't know. They can't see. Are you one of them?
That's exactly who I thought it was until I looked!
Dramatic without being overwrought.
THANKS!
You beat me to it… although, I still prefer The Boxer Rebellion.
That's a compliment by the way!
More Delta Spirit please BillG.
