Please somebody tell me the also see a horse in the album cover!
I’ll listen to pretty much anything St. Vincent puts out, and I basically stopped listening to new music after 2007. Always interesting, even if it’s not always my cup of tea exactly.
So, I want to like it. But it’s kinda a mess. Does it want to be rock, grunge, new wave, punk? So many influences crammed together. Some things I like and then it morphs to something else.
It’s not brilliant if it’s just a shit storm.

OK, it's not bad. But to rate her 26th best guitarist of all times is just wrong.
Very cool guitar stuff. Rolling Stone (October 2023) rates St. Vincent stronger than the likes of Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Jack White, Brian May, Frank Zappa, lots of other "big name" guitarists - and I believe it. Keep it comin'!

Sounds a lot like Garbage -- Garbage the band -- in a good way, I love Garbage.
I am warming to St Vincent. If anyone gets the chance to see her performance on the latest series of Later ... With Jools Holland, her rendition of Broken Man was absolutely spellbinding.
OK, that was....different. In a good way, I think. I have to admit that's the first St. Vincent song I've heard from beginning to end.
I can see why she's polarizing - I need to listen to more.
So far this is a 7

I saw her live in Boston a couple months ago. What a great show. My friend who turned me on to her a while back described it as some David Byrne + some Prince (not fair to Annie, David or Prince, I know!). So fun to see her having fun with this material and absolutely shredding on guitar!
I like this one more every time I hear it. Great sounds, great mix, killer bridge, cool interlude. She's legit.
My only negative comment is this is on a lot. But yeah that break is some real craftsmanship, you have to stop and listen. The song brings together some nice elements of late 70s, 80s, and early 90s rock.

We're clearly alone here, but I find her music completely annoying - It's like she's always trying So Hard to be edgy and outrageous. Whenever I see her name pop up I instantly hi 'Next'
#TRUTH!!! Get outta my head!

The main part of the song is meh, but the break is gorgeous. Upping my rating by 1 for the break alone…

OK, but what about what you can hear pop up?
;) I quite like her songs myself. It's strange because she does have a sound of her own, and yet she comes up with very different tunes.
LLRP!

Her Austin City Limits performance from 2018 (i think) was fantastic.
A step back, but a good one. Annie admits as much, for an artist that has progressed as much as she has, not a bad move. Breathe, then move forward at your own pace. Nothing wrong with that at all.
Pure trash imho
