Yea!!! Bill - stop this misary, pleasepleaseplease!
Laughing my ass off! These things, including William Shatner and the 'Elvis' version of Stairway to Heaven, help me laugh at myself and the world. If this can get published AND airtime, just imagine what dizzying heights a lowly peon like me can reach?? Hope springs eternal.

Art Of Noise and Tom Jones could cover anything and it'd be great. . . . and campy. . . all in one grand bizarreness of being.

This is actually pretty cool. Good call, Bill.
Mwaha! Fantabulous!
First i thought, wot Richard Cheese on RP? Then I noted the way better production, saw it was Pat boone and thought WTH.
Finally I realised what he was actually singing, and loved every second of it.
I have to get this ablum: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_a_Metal_Mood:_No_More_Mr._Nice_Guy

Bill, stop this insanity, please!
Granted, the sax is good and the band is pretty good, but the rest (Pat Boone's vocals) sucked then and even more now!

Sorry, clarification - I keep snorting in laughter.
Sorry, but this is so wonderful!!!! What an unexpected thing to do. I like the orchestration. I would listen to it again gladly. Just for its wierdness. I keep snorting.

And Pat's granddaughter Jessica is flippin' HOT.

I first thought it might be Richard Cheese, but then it lacked his polish. . . Dick Cheese would do a far better cover of this.
Great cover! Very original.
This is just the perfect thing to torture my co-workers with.
Still, there's no way I could ever possibly describe (or rate) this as good.
Funny, in a very bad, very funny, way.

Shatner rates a ten next to this tripe..
Owww, my ears... and I LOLed
Bill is trolling us again...
Pat Boone doing Metallica... This is by far one of the most bizarre covers I have ever heard! It is SO weird that I cannot resist it.
Hahaha, I get it. Can we stop now, please?
(Play William Shatner next time you get in one of these moods, Bill! Common People FTW.)

I move we save this one for Halloween or April 1.
This is awful - amazingly so. What was the point of this even being recorded?

Still, perhaps forcing Dick to play the digg for all enternity might be sufficient punishment.

Ok, I am going to look on the positive. The Horn Section is awesome! They did a great job, and the percussion section is really doing a fine job too! Overall I give a 3 though...just too jarring from the original.
is this what they play in the 9th circle of hell?

Aw hell no! Not even as "tongue in cheek." The religious "right" and heavy do not mix!

My, what a bunch of grumps we have around here. Let's all take a deep breath and stop taking ourselves so seriously.

If you're going to bother playing bad lounge covers, would you please consider Richard Cheese instead? Or Bud E. Love? Mr. Boone needs no attention at all. He's a total ass-clown, homo-hating, god-fearing, conservative putz.
There is a difference between eclectic and utterly horrid.
And this definitely falls into the latter category.
Definitely.
. . .
Oh dear God, it's worse than the disco version of Stairway to Heaven, and I didn't think anything could sink lower than that.

Yes, hilarious!
I prefer the Metallica cover.

Awful beyond words? Hardly. Thoroughly tongue-in-cheek fun that's dripping with equal parts smarm and cheese. But not awful beyond words.
Awful beyond words, and hysterical. Yeah, and "Crazy Train" is even worse. May rupture something if that one gets played!

Love the horns. This is so bad its good.
Hehe it's been 2 years since Bill played this- must be going through his archive folder.

Hilarious. Please continue to throw in things like this Bill.
Someone rated this one a 10!
And damn, some of those lyrics are really creepy when delivered like this.

ROFL Pat Boone - Enter Sandman, That was hilarious ... and Frida Snell - Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Bryan Ferry - I Put a Spell on You ...
That's what I call comic relief!
I count 67 comments from listeners in 10 minutes. Has to be a record.

If you like this kind of thing (I do) Paul Anka did a similar thing recently - big band covers of everything from Oasis to "Eye of the Tiger".
Ya, but Anka has some talent... For reasons that I wont explain, I have every top 10 hit PB had from 52'-63'. Everyone is horrid, and unlistenable...unless you want to torture the wife and kids.
That was seriously like watching your parents have sex.
lol!

All I have to say is: Wow.
Wow. Just, wow.
The spoken word section is haunting....
too funny (in a sick, twisted sorta way) - sure did generate a ton of posts to the forum though!
Why do I picture Roy Scheider in a Kabuki mask when I hear this?
That was a good laugh!
I liked it! I wouldn't enjoy it too often, but that was a fun cover!
Still scores way higher than Solsbury Hill by Sarah.
this is hilarious, but let's not make a habit of it!
I just love diversity! Thanks for playing good Ole Pat Boone.
I wish I could, but I can't even appreciate the bizarro cheese factor of this. The "back-up band" is pretty snazzy...but this pepped up version of this song makes the lyrics ridiculous!
You realize that my office productivity is COMPLETELY shot for the next 2+ minutes.
Hard to laugh and work at the same time, yo.
Check it out ..

my first time ever hearing Metallica on RP - hey that aint Metallica
Bwah hahahaha!!
Even more hellish is the cover. But I figure this is a collector's item. And it is a great stumper at parties!
More creative than Metallica could ever be

wonderful! So refreshing
Fun, ridiculous stuff! Great band!
Also, holy crap!
Bill make it stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill, please delete that file.
Alright, now play the original.
So we probably won't hear this one again, but we can still hear "No More Mr. Nice Guy"

not sure this is even funny
oh, what the heck -- where's my sense of humor?
wtf? and so I have to assume somebody said, "Yeah Pat - That would be a great idea!"... right?

Holy cheese, Batman, I was about to post that this sounded just like Richard as well.
have to take off my headphones for this one... i'd rather listen to the droning noise of my keyboard.
Has Metallica heard this?
we really need a horn icon
rudy want to buy yez a drink!
Oh. My. God. I do think my head might explode. And it was such a fantastic Friday up to this point.
OMG - Armageddon is here - it's the Anti-Christ
I remember when this was released....Pat on the CD cover in leather on a bike.
Sorta like Dean Martin covering Pink Floyd...just doesn't work.
the best tune on this album is pat's take on "crazy train."
Now I have seen the very mouth of Hell.
I'd always assumed it would have Estella Warren's lips.
I was so wrong.
Funny as h***

Pat's been paying attention to Bill Murray's lounge singer act.
a vision of Hell . . .
