oh no no no no...
nope.
I heard Bill introduced this song while I was driving. I pulled over and looked at the song , and said to myself that I think I will rate this. So I scroll , and then found out that I had already rated it a seven. I totally understand why someone might not like Yoko Ono. However, I find that when I hear a song by Yoko Ono, my expectations change, a lot. I usually tend to like it. But I'm not sure why.
Considering the rating of this song you might say RP listeners are biased against Yoko. Rightfully so!
Love Basement Jaxx, great to hear you do too :-)
{#Bananajam}
Groo-vay!
I started out liking it. I ended up not liking it.
rated it up because of the owl album cover and I've never heard this before!
Sweet, sweet irony of PSD:

Tried listening to this #@!%^ for a minute and escaped via PSD to...

John Lennon "Instant Karma."

John is laughing from on high, while quietly apologizing for every tracked he released with Yoko on it.
Awful
Ha ha, I can see Bill smiling as he plays this
Scars. The album is appropriately named.
The fish tickle my skin as well,,,, I have the same issue as this girl. We are simpatico.
To be absolutely correct, Japanese names should be written surname first, followed by given name.  Therefore, it would be more correct to call her "Ono Yoko" instead of "Yoko Ono."   Which makes sense also because every time I hear her trying to sing, I think to myself, "Oh, no--Yoko!"
For what it's worth, I'm with Bill on this one. I am pretty sure that I will turn it up next time I hear it.
Cosmically sexy :)
My wife and I argue who picks these out, Bill or Rebecca, she always says the bad female artists are Bill's choice. We're still in dispute on this one!
Thanks Bill.. I loved it too !
Wow; an interesting bit of electro-pagan whatever.. If Yoko had been able to keep from yowling it would have been nice.
So glad John loved her...I DON'T!

This sounds like Yoko is having sex at Disneyland on acid.

Yes, it does......or so I'm told.
Holy smokes, that's bad...
I LOVE YOU YOKO !
It's really awful!

Because it satisfies one of the basic human needs: bitching. . .

Oh, did I mention that I would rather gargle a steaming vat of rancid goat pus than listen to this virulent shite?

{#Puke}

Sounds even worse hearing it again. Someone should remove this ladies vocal chords as humanitarian act of kindness...

Why complain when you can simply not listen?

Yoko Ono thinks that her fake orgasm sounds are entertaining. I wonder if she faked like that with John Lennon.
I don't understand all the negative vibe.  I think it rocks.
I didn't know (or care) that Yoko was involved, it just sounds bad. I was listening to this and my wife walked in and asked, with a look on her face, "what the heck is this music?". Then my son (age 7) walked in and said, "this music sounds weird". He says the same thing about the taste of Tylenol. They also don't know or care about Yoko.

Watching someone smear dogshit on themselves in public is also "provocative" but I have no desire to see that either. All songs by this "band" have the same ratings (bad). Why have ratings if they are ignored?
I find it (sadly) interesting how much people hate Yoko Ono. I wonder if this song would rate so low if she had had no part in it. She has been a very influential artist in spite of her ability to be polarizing. At least she's provocative. If I had to choose, I'd rather be Yoko Ono than....Peter Frampton.{#Think}
Basement Jaxxx is onto something. Many of you don't hear it, but they are. And it's good. 7<8.

276 votes, avg = 3..Bill is just havin fun with us{#Cowboy}
I'm with the Nottingham Jury and zogma!  Like anchovies though, just a little bit'll do ya.

P.S.    Bill- add a "zero" so some 'songs' can be properly rated!

This song is horrible. Is this some kind of twisted test of RP listener loyalty? I think I am failing... WTF?!

I gave it a 2 because it's not as bad as the other BJ song. "Song" is really a stretch ain't it?

I had to check whether I was still listening to Radio Paradise...
Worse than horrible!!!!!!!!!!!1
Bill, average rating is a 3 after 271 ratings. Don't  you think it's time to remove this?

Gets worse with each listening.

This utterly sucks. It doesn't even fall into the "it's so bad, it's humorous" category.
I thought this was some Yoko Oh! No!  mistake.  {#Puke}

My ears would be grateful if RP stopped playing this song.  I have a hard time giving out 1s, but this one merits it...

This is without a doubt the worst song I've heard in those 8 years.  :)

4 years.... but couldn't agree more... and it seems to be in a frequent rotation currently... uhh

Didn't expect to acquire a taste for this, but I have.  Kind of like musical anchovies.  Cracks me up every time it comes on. Bumping it up to an eight!  And infinite respect to B & R for letting this one through the door!

Second that. What's with all the negativity, people? Quirky, loopy song—yeah!

This song is so much better than the other Basement Jaxx song that Bill plays. That other song makes me feel like I'm about to be killed by a rusty saw.

The musical version of Plan 9 from Outer Space.
This is BEYOND terrible... what a truly painful song.... really not impressed with the last few songs.... perhaps there is a fill in for Bill?....

The piece is great.

What I don't get, is how she got Manbird to pose for the cover photo ! {#Confused}

Yep, it had me thinking I was listening to one of the crappy 'Europop' stations we get here in France. It certainly had me looking at the now playing list. I was expecting Boney M as a follow up. Ra ra Rasputin...

Thankfully not.

For me this is full of the typical magic felix and crew do so well a truly great track. i am addicted to those squelchy synth sounds a lovely
T U N E from a progressive inspirational band.

Just wondering what's the point behind insisting on this ear(+brain) torture  |-(

2.9! This is the first song I've seen on RP with a rating below 3. A dubious distinction.

I have to agree with you on that one.  No matter how difficult it is to listen to.{#Neutral}
Its not just this song, this album has to be one of most musically irritating collections of crap I have ever heard.  But it has given me hope of starting my own instrumental career.  All I need is some police whistles, kitchen utensils, and well timed animal noises.
Wow the rating went down while I was trying to think of something to write. I thought, "is this Radio Paradise?" I thought I had clicked on another station. I thought it was just so unusual; I have never heard someone with an asian accent on RP before, then looked at the band name, no clue who it was, then read the comments. I've tried to steer away from Yoko. I just don't get her. 2 things I don't like in music, Reggae and Yoko. And now there's a Bob Marley song on. UGH!
It's like something you'd expect from a junior high school student who was misinformed about what edgy means.
I had to turn this off for fear that one of my co-workers would think I was watching porn. {#Lol}

There is something very disturbing about Yoko Ono's panting in this song...

What disturbs me is that she was using the exact same effect in the 70s ("Kiss, Kiss, Kiss," on Double Fantasy)... At the time, a politically relevant and radical statement about sexuality, violence, and media. But meanwhile back here in the 21st c., it's just risking shtick, I'm afraid (IMHO, of course).

Sounded like she was saying "We Want John" till I read the playlist. But maybe that was her intention in the first place. {#Rolleyes}
To each their own, Bill. I may not agree with your assessment but I will defend your right to like this song. It is, after all, your station.

Agree 100% Freddie Boy.
Is it the Y-O word, I wonder?  I didn't associate this piece of laughing fun with her one leetle, teeny bit: maybe we glimpse whatever it was that Lennonsaw in her all those years ago.  (Which takes some doing.)

It sucked before I had any idea YO was involved.  And it still sucks.

Okaaaaaaay...I'm speechless...
Honestly, how high do you have to be when you say, "Ya know who would really make this song great?" and Yoko Ono is the answer you actually like.

This is bad on SO many levels.  Maybe a 2 instead of a 1.  But how in the world could anyone have given it a 10?!!
And bringing up the rear . . .

I like it, keep pushing it to the edge BillG! Normal music is way overrated {#High-five}
Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't care for this. To each his own, I guess, but for me, this is simply awful. My tastes are more to the folky-acoustic-melodic-alt-country stuff and although I like some electronica, this is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me.

I agree it's eclectic and fits with the ethos of the station - but it's still an awful track.

Do you feel bad now?  He said he was reading your comments!

Shame!

I was patching my roof and after a couple minutes was SO irritated by this "music", I climbed down the ladder, turned off the computer and went to Clear Channel on the AM dial.

Mommy. Make it stop. Few sounds as disgusting as Ono panting.
Yeah, you folks shouldn't complain so much - I think it's consistent with the eclectic nature of the station.

Still, this was playing in the background at work and I thought, "Is that Yoko Ono saying, 'We want John?'"  Seemed sad.  I want him too, but I've given up that wish...
This is shit.

I'd rather trim my toenails with a Cuisinart than listen to this again.

I thought RP had been hijacked by teeny bopper hackers when this came on..
