Oh Lord, won't you listen in to me now?
Oh love, I got to get me back to you somehow
I never knew that life was loaded
I'd only hung around birds and bees
I never knew that things exploded
I only found it out when I was down upon my knees
Looking for my life
Looking for my life

Oh boy, you've no idea what I've been through
Oh love, I feel so stuck that I can't get to you
Had no idea that I was heading toward a state of emergency
I had no fear where I was treading
I only found it out when I was down upon my knees
Looking for my life

Caught up on me with intensity
Had no idea where I was heading
I only found it out when I was down upon my knees
Looking for my life
Looking for my life

Oh boys, you've no idea where I've been through
Oh love, I got to get back somehow to you
I never knew that life was loaded
I'd only hung around birds and bees
I never knew that things exploded
I only found it out when I was down upon my knees
Looking for my life

I never got any G.C.E.s
I never knew that things exploded
I only found it out when I was down upon my knees
Looking for my life
Looking for my life
Looking for my life
Looking for my life

hey, i'm feeling the same way. Miss GH for all his understatement... No Beatles with him...

OMG, thanks for posting this great photo!  Incredible how they both favor their Dads.

I certainly agree with the cover art.
not many musicans truly transcend, George's early success, gave him the ability and the wherewithal to do it.....and his prior success gave him a wider and more accepting audience for his later works....this work appeals to me not so much...(did smeone mention Tom Petty?) {#Think}  but "all things must pass" is truly seminal.  indeed, we do miss you, it would be amazing to see where your head, and heart would be...prayers for the victims in mumbai....

I adored the Beatles, but this song is too mediocre for RP.
I think it fell off my desk and rolled under my chair---here ya go George.
Does he know Tom Petty...?
Very strong effort from a beautiful soul. Collectively, The Beatles affected so many people in so many ways. The one whose music had the most power to go straight to my heart was George's. He never ever rested on his or The Beatles success by producing formulaic, commercialized crap. His music was an expression of Who He Was, and not many other artists had his ability to perceive the human condition and express his take on it with so much compassion and humility. Thank you George and thanks to the Cosmos for giving him to us.

I agree. It seems if there is musician who can put my troubled mind at ease with every song,it's George Harrison. There is something peacefull about his music.

Still love ya George !
I nominate this album cover art as the worst of all Beatle solo LP art.
George Harrison and John Lennon. It was only after each's passing that I found out what fine individuals they were - their ideals, etc. Definitely gone too soon.

Sounds a bit better to me now than it did in Nov 2005. Maybe I needed to get my expectations out of the way in order to really hear it.
Love ya, George.

Check out the "Concert for George" DVD--Dhani plays acoustic guitar. His resemblance to George, like a dead ringer (okay, hold the flames: yes, he's George's son), is eerie.
Dhani's resemblance to George is remarkable and a little eerie. I loved this tribute to George. Eric Clapton did a remarkable job hosting it.
The thing that always gets me about this song is how it seems similar to "Run So Far" on the same album. But that was written a while back, since it also appears on Clapton's Journeyman album. I guess if it sounds good, use it again. As long as it isn't "He's So Fine".
Greetings, Are there a couple of "skips" in this file? There is a very noticeable one about halfway through, and a very small one about 15 seconds from the end? Neil
Well said. bluedot wrote:
yeah, but give george and jeff a break. don't forget that george was dying of cancer when he did this. jeff lynne, whatever his faults helped the ailing george to finish this song. i think that jeff deserves not just a pass, but a virtual 'pat on the back' for that! and, heck. the song came out pretty cool. maybe this was the one song where jeff's "same drum sound and place in the mix" worked like a charm! i'm just trying to be positive here for george and his very cool new album.
It comes to close to turning into a really good GH tune, but the energy's just not there. I know he was not well, so I'm not cutting on the guy. Just my response to the song. External context aside, it always disappoints me.
Lovely to unexpectedly hear this great song pop up. More George Harrison, please!
Jeff Lynne playing Uncle Paul's Songbook.

I like your take on this. :)
More George!

George was never really appreciated and this song really rocks as does RP
more from this album, please!

Om Shanti
I never really liked Jeff Lyne's productions. Very recognizable but often so clean, straight forward and without (too much) dynamics. It probably worked best for ELO, but like in this case I would've prefered a much more natural approach. Especially because George Harrison's voice sounds rather vulnerable.
You did good George RIP
Thank you God for giving us George!! Please send more we really need the help right now. :sunny.gif:

I was going to say the same thing - I swear every recording Lynne has produced or played on has the same drum sound and place in the mix.

Yeah, and it sounds so boring too... Oh well.

I must get my \"Full Moon Fever\" album out again
Powerful song. Arising out of being stabbed or diagnosed or both ? Very tasty instrumentals as well This should get at least as much play as \"Pisces Fish\".
My first post on a good song. YEAH! :D
