Long ago, NBC Radio ran a weekend program called "Monitor." It ran in various time slots almost continuously from Friday through Sunday, and it ran for years. 

This piece reminds me of production music used on "Monitor."

My only gripe about Calexico is that they achieved international notariety so fast, we didn't have very long at all to enjoy them as a local act in Tucson.   Bravo, boys, but It really was kind of frustrating.  There was a brief period when one could see a glimmer of hope that Tucson could develop a music scene, and *poof* it ended.

God, I really love this band. Saw them live a few times now  - they must be touring all the time, or they wouldn't be in Austria (of all paces) every year or two - and they're just all-around good. Great rapport with the audience, great music, and none of the rockstar attitude. If I were in a band, this is how I'd like to perform. They're officially on my "hero" list ;-)

Greetings. I don't know much about Calexico. RP introduced me to them and I went straight out a bought 'Hot Rail'. Excellent album and I believe a good intro into their music, I will be buying more! I find the music quite Tarantinoesk, if you know what I mean.
