Here comes my happiness again
Right back to where it should have been
Cause now she's gone and I am free
And she can't do a thing to me

I just wanna dance the night away
With senoritas who can sway
Right now tomorrow's lookin' bright
Just like the sunny mornin' light

And if you should see her
Please let her know that I'm well
As you can tell
And if she should tell you
That she wants me back
Tell her no
I gotta go

I just wanna dance the night away
With senoritas who can sway
Right now tomorrow's lookin' bright
Just like the sunny mornin' light

And if you should see her
Please let her know that I'm well
As you can tell
And if she should tell you
That she wants me back
Tell her no
I gotta go

I just wanna dance the night away
With senoritas who can sway
Right now tomorrow's lookin' bright
Just like the sunny mornin' light

I just wanna dance the night away
With senoritas who can sway
Right now tomorrow's lookin' bright
Just like the sunny mornin' light

When this comes around on my personal mix I always run back the first three bars just to enjoy how the different voices come in: guitar, percussion, bass, horns, and vocals. Great arrangement, and so tight.

When this song comes on my personal mix I go back and listen to the first 12-15 seconds over and over. The arrangement is just perfect--each voice kicks in at a slightly different time, and it's all good.
Raul Malo has a great voice.
Seems like a pretty self-absorbed singer.  Perhaps we can see now why they split up.
I swear I thought this was the Traveling Wilburys.

10 as most of their songs!!!

Love this guys voice
My Miami peeps!
My town was one of about a dozen that they chose for their December Christmas Tour in 2018.
This music is pretty far from the usual stuff I'd play, but having bought the CD from an Op Shop for a couple of dollars many moons ago it remains as one of the best fun and joyful albums to dance round the house when alone to.

Agreed!  They are a really good band.  Another great song of theirs is "Would You Believe?"

Doggone it, it's just fun!  Some music doesn't need to be anything other than that.
Favorite Mavericks song.  They are fantastic live!  Go see them!

Yech, I remember when I first heard this - it's not improved since. Dense instrumentation, dull-as-dishwater repeating I-V chord progression, boring melody and shuffle syncopation... This is the sort of music they play endlessly in Room 101... Or The Mavericks' local supermarket. (Take your pick.)

Will see them live this week, thanks for the positive feedback below!
LOVE the Mavericks.  They put on a great show.
There's a Farsifa organ feel to this that is very appealing.

Well said.  As a matter of fact, there's a lot we could "keep here" if need be and everyone else can just "bugger off".

See what I did there?

Yes, but he doesn't go an octave out of my range like Orbison, so it's easier to sing along, yay! {#Yell}
Every time I hear this I can't help but think these guys would be great to see live.

Like getting really drunk...and yet people don't seem to learn that lesson after years of hangovers.
Could this station get any better? I think not.

What?

Sabra is an American company which produces hummus and other "Middle-Eastern-style" foods; I imagine Solanus was confusing "sabre" with "Sabra".
Have a friend who is a HUGE fan and we all went to see the Mavericks perform here in Richmond.

The are a wonderful live band - a very fun concert.

When they came out for their first encore, the keyboard player came out first and started playing this cord and held it.

I turned to my wife and said they are going to play Pink Floyd and they launched into "Us And Them".

I was on holidays in Scotland many years ago. They played this song in the local camping disco. Not a very cool place and the people there were all but what is commonly considered as cool. But what fun they had! I like to be among uncool people.
One of mrs pxd's favourites, so on her behalf I give it an 8.  She would be more generous, but she doesn't have an account, so she'll have to be satisfied with my rating. pxd

{#Dancingbanana}Get up and DANCE!! {#Dancingbanana} Great!{#Clap}
first saw these guys on david byrne's old tv show that showcased bands from all over . loved em every sense / great song on the dusk til dawn sound track !
I highly reccommend their 1994 release "What A Crying Shame"

This is absolutely cool.{#Cool}
Yea Mavericks!! {#Bananajam}
First heard them on RP about 10 years ago. Got up to dance as soon as the song came on.
Saw them four times this year. Can't get enough. Great show!! - Real pros - Raul clearly loves performing.
Don't miss it if you can catch them live - and Be sure to check out their last two albums - Mono and In Time - much more eclectic than their earlier albums with lots of Cuban roots.
One more reason I love RP - get to learn about great bands.
Never gonna be cool and all the better for it.
nice ! big mavericks fan ! first saw them on a david byrne tv show late ninety's
Looooved seeing the Mavericks at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco last weekend!

Yeah, the Byrne feel is most definitely there! Not a bad thing.
And some kind of David Byrne feel, too. Cute song.
I like this as it has a Chris Issac feel to it.
I  wonder if Donald Trump  would like the band?
need to go dancing tonight
Still like the Van Halen version better.
Thanks Bill, I needed this! You used to play this more often, please feel free to do so again, it never gets boring being this happy{#Bananajam}{#Drummer}
Watching these guys live on OETA right now - they RAWK.
Oi chihuahua, that's hot, and truthful, love that country latino fusion, thanks. :)
Corny but still damned catchy.{#Bananapiano}
Just makes you want to get up and SALSA. Even if you don't know how! Great tune.
Bumping this from 7 to 8 just for Raul's voice alone.   Bueno

At first I thought this was the Big I doing the Big O.  I suppose if these guys get big it will be the Big M doing the Big I doing the Big O.

Old 97s - Dance With Me
Kings of Convenience - I'd Rather Dance With You
Mavericks - Dance the Night Away

The worst song on Trampoline - still as catchy as hell though.

Old '97's Dance With me, followed by Kings of Convenience, "I'd Rather Dance With You", followed by this song.  On at least 4 different occasions in the last several months....  I like it, but it's time for new playlists!
Make me move...

Yea! Mavericks!! This is fun music but it does take a little effort to get into the groove. At first listen, it may strike you as odd music. But listen a few more times and let your body go!

This album is good but Music For All Occasions is probably their defining work. I've seen them twice and really had fun each time because it's a high energy show and I enjoy Raul's voice.

Love Raul's voice.  So many parallels between his style and Roy Orbison's.
Is this from a movie too, anyone? I can see an ironic application with a Coen's violent murder scene....
