Good music, good performance, but live performance like this is for concerts and not for radio, just my personal opinion(explanation for rating)
Rest in peace
Thank you for the wonderful music

"She is indeed... the best... so much warmth and 'saudade' (sodade) in her moves and eyes... So wish we could see her again soon on the scene... but I doubt it after her health problems last year... We love you, Madam... and we have 'sodades' of you... already!"
voices as this are not belong of a country or a region, belongs to all the humanity -

Totally agree with what's been said here - of all Cesaria Evora tracks to pick, why this lousy live performance?
This performer is new to me. If this is a poor performance, I can't wait to hear the good stuff! THIS was awesome!

Why all the applause, did Jerry Lewis walk in?

Because this is the first Cesaria track I ever heard, on a collection with female African singers, and I've loved her music ever since. I like the live atmosphere on this track.
(yes, I uploaded this)
I do see your point though, the version on "Miss Perfumado" is perhaps a better intrduction to Cesaria Evaro.

When I saw her live, she was standing and sober, thank you very much.
She did include an instrumental song half-way, in order to have a smoking break on-stage, in the middle of a non-smoking theatre...

Anway. Please replace this with original studio version, which really does her voice justice.
Bill added the studio version to the playlist. :-)

Totally agree with what's been said here - of all Cesaria Evora tracks to pick, why this lousy live performance? Way too much sing-along, random interruptions of applause, and self-indulgent soloing. And Cesaria herself is definitely not at the top of her form - I'm told that she performs sitting down, with a bottle of whisky in one hand and a cigarette in the other. She definitely sounds a little sloshed in this recording.

Great music, terific voice with a lot of feeling and the live audience adds to that impression perfectly.
Sounds lke the needle got stuck in the groove of an LP.
This sound is incredibly repetitive, rendering it boring and annoying.

Barfo Wanko....
"Barfo Wanko"? A new low in phraseology, even for you, Jonny Boy. Your obsession with "to55ing", "wanking", and "fecking" suggests that you haven't "grown up" much yourself. What does Pez see in you?
As always, I am pleased to offer you a fine selection of smileys for your viewing pleasure.

I liked this well enough to come here and give it a 6. And surprising for me to add a comment, given that I've never heard them before.
I mean... it's pretty good for a live performance.
And 'audience clapping too much'? C'mon guys... have you never been to a live gig?
Â
Poor choice... There's plenty of non-live albums of her with amazing songs...
Still better than nothing... ;)
agree with most of the comments.the audience is crap
I usually like world music and live music, but this isn't doing much for me.
Yes - studio, please. The audience is really over-enthusiastic on this cut...though the tune grooves very nicely - just wish the instruments could be heard. Put this one down to not particularly good production...
How great to hear Cesaria on the station! But I agree with comments about playing studio recordings rather than the live one. Thanks.
Fabulous to hear this classic voice. RP should really explore THE most powerful voice around: Mercedes Sosa
Yes, I'd like more of her too.
Thanks for this song and keeping it diverse...check out Suzanna Bacca from Peru for another amazing voice!
