We get some rules to follow
That and this, these and those
No one knows

We get these pills to swallow
How they stick in your throat
Tastes like gold
Oh, what you do to me
No one knows

And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I
And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I, I

I journey through the desert
Of the mind with no hope
I follow

I drift along the ocean
Dead lifeboats in the sun
And come undone
Pleasantly caving in
I come undone

And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I
And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I, I

Heaven smiles above me
What a gift here below
But no one knows
The gift that you give to me
No one knows

I have always LOVED the incredibly ingenious, highly unorthodox guitar work in this. I dig how they bring the kind of curiously oblique, madly tweaked tapestry of slashing and gnashing they're weaving here to an even more satisfyingly wild level in "Time and Place" on their new In Times New Roman release, too. This makes me want to dig out Gang of Four's Entertainment!

OMG, that video was the best thing I've watched in quite a while.
Whoever likes this, check out supergroup Them Crooked Vultures.
Cool!

I hear you brother
The righteous, badass skins pounding from Dave Grohl in his best impression of "Animal" from The Muppet Show, is alone enough to warrant a 10!
DAMN SON!
Not that familiar with this band, but this number rocks HARD. 8 -> 9. So good.
The album title "Songs for the Deaf" reminds me of one of my favorite jokes.

Q: Why do farts smell?

A: So deaf people can enjoy them too!!

Still at an 8 on this rocking tune.

LLRP!!
We be DANCING!

Hi, i am one of them. Rated it with 9, because it rocks so f*cking good
perfect songs...
the lanegan and grohl era of qotsa was by far era ventus for me
Not the smoothest of segues, Mr. DJ:

This album's nearly 20 years old, is it?

Wow. I'm old.

What is all that caterwauling? I told you an hour ago to turn off that noise, do your homework, brush your teeth and go to bed!  And I mean it!

You'll want to be in a room full of deaf people?
Not really familiar with this band, but this number rocks! Not really sure I should be listening this just as I'm going to bed, but yeah, whatever. Rock on. :)

That was awesome.  Thanks for sharing.  Man, she killed it.  No nerves whatsoever.  And kudos to Dave Grohl and the band for giving her the opportunity.  Moments of joy are seemingly fewer and farther between the last 20 months but this was definitely one for me.
Wouldn't mind hearing other than this QOTSA classics.

NOTHING BUT NET!

11 from me. How anyone can not be compelled into physical motion by this song is beyond me.

I see/hear where you are coming from. Neither band are on my fave list, but this track seems better that others that I have dismissed, and he doesn't have Matt's overpowering heavy breathing and whine!

Sublime - the whole album is a 10
Sweet bass line and grunty guitars, I like!

Mr David Grohl
I loved this song, this album, from the day it was released...a long time ago now.

Guess i am with you there. Clear 10
Following this with Mexican Radio was inspired.
Always have rocked. Josh is one of the nicest guys around. His spotlight with Bourdain years ago on No Reservations was killer. And if you haven't ever woken up to kick the day in the ass with You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I feel like a Millionaire" cranked...then you need to experience it.
Missed this band in real time somehow, glad I'm hearing them now on RP in retrospective
It's appropriately heavy and guitar-y, but it swings like a mofo. Love this whole album, have for 15 years.

Many bands try to combine visceral rhythms and, let's say "shouty" singing.  Usually it's a sonic mess.
Here it just works, I can't think of many better examples of how to "do rock", and get it right.

Saw most of this outfit backing Iggy Pop at the Opera House in Denver.  Crazy outfit and fun.  Get Iggy's new Album with these guys,  it's good.

Definitely a classic already for it's time in my book.
... also not to complain but this should ALWAYS be followed by Wall of Voodoo's Mexican Radio.
Well *I* know.
A cornerstone piece of popular rock music of the 2000s.
Always makes me smile {#Bananasplit}
Heck of a band! Yeah! {#Dancingbanana_2}

"Que música (tan) impresionante"
Why does Bill include the intro to the next song "First It Giveth" at the end of "No One Knows". Ya just can't play a song intro but them not play the song. It's just not right.
Great layers of complexity
I'm going to steal this album today
So many bands want to be this band...

The video clip is pretty funny. I tried to link a screenshot from the video, but my companies proxy rates it as pornography {#Confused}

Do you mean The Fall?

Terrific song and great drumming.

What! did you say Dave Grohl is the drummer? Well that explains it now, doesn't it.

QotSA are mostly a bit too heavy for my tastes, but I have always loved this song and the video with Dave Grohl going apeshit on the drums is super. Thanks for playing this.

Yeah, now we rocking in the morning! It' s 10 F in Denver and snowing. I could shred to this tune!

yeaaahhhhhh ! So good. This smiley was made for this song.  {#Drummer}

This song is in the tiny intersection of "things on Radio Paradise" and "things played on the alt / metal rock station I listened to in high school".  Thanks Bill!
Dave rules!!!

Nice! One of the only mainstream hard rock bands with radio play that I love. I could not stand them when this song came out, but they decided to play this album at the bar before a CKY show that I went to in 2002. I have been a fan since. :)
Hear just a few grains of Ramey Zero in this tune?  Great drums....
love rock
