You ain't my Rabbi
The is not a Jewish rabbi. He's a sikh.
Your chord changes will never die.
With a minimal adjustment, it can be sung to the music from "All Along the Watchtower"
First thing I noticed, too. But it's pleasant.
Sufi mysticism. Unfortunately it sounds rather cheesy. I'd rather have Nusrat Ali Fateh Khan
You mean Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan; the order matters.
He is a Sikh.
This was bad pop...
Bulla ki Jaana
Bulla, I know not who I am
Bulla, I know not who I am
Nor am I the believer in mosque
Nor am I in idol worship
Nor am in the pure or the impure
Nor am I in the Vedas
Nor am I in the intoxicants
Nor am I in the carefree deviant
Nor am I union nor grief
Nor am I in the pure/impure
Nor am I of the water nor of the land
Nor am I fire nor air
Bulla, I know not who I am
Nor am I Arabic nor from Lahore
Nor am I the Indian city of Nagaur
Nor am I Hindu nor a Peshawari turk
Nor did I create the difference of faith
Nor did I create Adam-Eve
Nor did I name myself
Beginning or end I know just the self
Do not recognise ''the other one''
There's none wiser than I
Who is this Bulla Shah
Bulla, I know not who I am

Well Said
I don't understand this reaction from anyone who listens to 'rp' with any regularity.
Incidentally, I don't get the Black Keys references, but when I first walked in to the room and before I realized he was singing in a different language, I thought it was David Byrne. :-)
They probably see the guy in a turban on the album cover and get triggered.

What's so WTF about it? It's a song in Punjabi. That's it.

Yeah, too many bands copying the Black Keys sound these days.
Yes, there are (were) especially a lot of bands from the 1970s copying The Black Keys sound.

Thats funny, do you know who the Black Keys are?
Time to grow up. Most people in the world do not speak English. Everyone makes music. You are very lucky that you get as many tunes in English as you do. Deal with it.
3 - Rather mechanized, unoriginal, and boring backing track. Don't find his vocalizing anything special either. Only thing special for our mostly English-speaking audience is that he is is singing in English.

Why listen to an "eclectic" station if all you want to hear is the same old thing?
Silly rabbi, kicks are for trids! But seriously folks, he's not a rabbi. That's just his name.
I do like this song.
the vocal is quite evocative.
Only 5.6 ?
Yes, indeed, tastes are beyond dispute.

I have no idea what he's singing/saying but it's such a beautifully delivered vocal, so heartfelft. Proof of music being the universal language.
Very well stated! I Agree completely. That is why we come here. Thanx RP!
