Well I'm-a write a little letter
I'm gonna mail it to my local D.J.
Yeah and it's a jumpin' little record
I want my jockey to play
Roll over Beethoven
I gotta hear it again today

You know my temperature's risin'
The jukebox's blowin' a fuse
My heart beatin' rhythm
And my soul keep-a singing the blues
Roll over Beethoven
And tell Tchaikovsky the news

I got the rockin' pneumonia
I need a shot of rhythm and blues
I caught the rollin' athritis
Sittin' down at a rhythm review
Roll over Beethoven
They rockin' in two by two

Well if you feel and like it
Go get your lover then reel and rock it
Roll it over then move on up, yes-a
Try for further then
Reel and rock with one another
Roll over Beethoven
And dig these rhythm and blues

Well early in the mornin'
And I'm givin' you my mornin'
Don't you step on my blue suede shoes
Hey diddle-diddle, I'm-a play my fiddle
Ain't got nothing to lose
Roll over Beethoven
And tell Tchaikovsky the news

You know she wiggle like a glow worm
Dance like a spinnin' top
She got a crazy partner
You oughta see 'em reel an rock
Long as she got a dime
The music will never stop

Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
And dig these rhythm and blues

Maybe the finest funnest bestest of all the original '50s rockers.  That guy could play, sing, compose, write, perform, dance and generally take the joint and sound by storm. Most impressive he was.
The very definition of "roots tock"!

When will Mister Chuck come back ??

Don't forget his piano player, Johnny Johnson.
This never gets old! Great guitar work. Moden day bands could learn one thing or two from Chuck.
When will Chuck come back ??

A great artist for sure.  However, I was living in St. Louis when the story below (from his Wiki entry) broke circa 1990 and my appreciation for his work has waned ever since.  Not being judgmental but...I just cannot shake the association of his music with the diagnosable behavior ;)

In 1990 Berry was sued by several women who claimed that he had installed a video camera in the ladies' bathrooms at two of his St. Louis restaurants. A class action settlement was eventually reached with 59 women on the complaint. Berry's biographer, Bruce Pegg, estimated that it cost Berry over $1.2 million plus legal fees.

Chuck Berry. One of the very few of the very original version of Mr. Rock and Roll.  Rock on elsewhere.
From Amy W. to Chuck.

So long, Chuck.
Well....it's about time you play him.

RIP to the greatest RnR guitar player.
RIP. He'll be missed.
THAT BILL!  What a hilarious segue from Beethoven to Chuck Berry   {#Jump}

Eleanor Rigby, then Beethoven's Fifth...totally saw this one coming. Nice job, tho.

He may not be rollin' over but if his toes ain't tappin' he better check his pulse.

You know, you can say what you want to Beethoven, but shouldn't expect him to hear.

One classic after another:

Chuck Berry - Roll Over Beethoven
Beethoven - Symphony No.5 - Allegro Con Brio
Beatles - Eleanor Rigby

Classics mixed in a unique eclectic way. This is why I listen to RP. Thanks Bill.

Oh, very funny!   (See previous song).

At first I was like, "Beethoven and Chuck Berry don't go together. What the..." Then I looked at the title. Cute, Bill. Cute.
I love when classics are added to the playlist, thanks Bill. :)
