The summer wind, came blowin' in, from across the sea
It lingered there, to touch your hair, and walk with me
All summer long, we sang a song, and then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweethearts, and the summer wind
Like painted kites, those days and nights, they went flyin' by
The world was new, beneath a blue, umbrella sky
Then softer than, a piper man, one day it called to you
I lost you, I lost you to the summer wind
The autumn wind, and the winter winds, they have come and gone
And still the days, those lonely days, they go on and on
And guess who sighs his lullabies, through nights that never end
My fickle friend, the summer wind
The summer wind warm summer wind
Mmm the summer wind

My grandfather doing his Sinatra impression on his state of the art 1970’s stereo console. Hat, dance and attitude, makes this a 10 4 me.
Martin Prince.

I partially agree with you. He is GREAT! Except that RP has 6 of his tunes in their playlist. I love ALL of them! Thanx RP!
Anybody who’s had the kind of impact and influence on popular music as this guy has had deserves at least one tune on Radio Paradise. This is a nice choice. Love him or hate him, the talent is real. I’d say one tune will do.

Class. Pure class. 9.
I think this is the 1st time I've ever heard Frank Sinatra. I can see why he is a legend, this song is incredible.
OMG! He's [gasp young! Nice song!
Ol' Blue Eyes really could hit some notes just right - impressive considering he didn't read music, something inside him just knew what to do. Not being a huge fan though means I have a lot of his catalog to get into still, maybe a few more Sinatra tunes will make it to RP?! Long Live RP!!

I'm with you. I appreciate it a lot more now, but there's a lounge lizard quality to his voice that I can't like wholeheartedly. It's pleasant, but give me Bing Crosby any day (who apparently was a jerk, but boy could he sing)
I don't get him either. Never have. He's too WWII alpha male for me. My champion from that era is Tony Bennett, long may he live. He has soul and feelings and humanity.

I know that I'm in the minority here, but I just don't get Sinatra. To me it always seems like he's searching for the correct note. I wonder how far he'd have gone without Mafia support.

Great observation Bill. Probably my favorite Sinatra tune. Perfect summer vibe for sailing east coast waters.
My favorite Sinatra song. A solid 10.
BillG--that's when you turned into your dad
I had a friend in college who used to feature Sinatra on our college radio station. This was in the late 70s/early 80s when New Wave and Punk ruled the scene around NYU. I didn't get it then.---I get it now. Thanks Bill.

It lingered there, it curled your hair, and followed me.
All summer long, we smelt that bomb, as we strolled that golden sand.
Two sweethearts and the breakin' wind.

Frank....Horns.....Strings....Organ....Pretty fly for a white guy!
There's eclectic, then there's cheesier than the Wensleydale Creamery. I'd never have expected to see Old Mafioso on the RP playlist. Still, I do listen to the station to be continually surprised.
I GOT CHUNKS OF GUYS LIKE YOU IN MY STOOL!
It is Cold with a Raw wind today in the Northeast and I'm thinking this song was a cruel April Fool's joke.
Agreed! Despite the terrible sound from the organ.

ha-ha. Yes, I grew up thinking that he was a low-life. And I used to hate his music, too. And that 'Rat Pack' thing - Ick. The thing is that over the years, I have seen that his music endures, and I have grown to like a lot of it.

Absolute classic.
Old GREAT classic!
Never understood his appeal. His voice sounds so hard compared to, say, Dean Martin.
I hate that when you open the fridge and all you've got for breakfast is chocolate mousse.
Sure, why not throw a little Chairman of the Board into the mix?
this may sound like blasphemy, but Lyle Lovett does a really nice version of this.
My mom & dad danced to Frank in the living room. My favorite is "It was a Very Good Year." This is a10.
I must BE getting old
I like Frank once in a awhile now

Well, that's something completely different.
Not bad, don't like most of Blue Eye's stuff but this one's not too bad.

I like Frank as much as the next guy but I have to say I think the Bobby Darin version of this song is much better,
Only 11 tracks from " Old blue eyes" in the library Bill?! More please
Good song for the beginning of Memorial Day weekend!
Moments like this when "the voice" pops up on my headphones are what make RP great!!
BTW, from a really windy 1st day of Spring in Sweden ;-)

I really need this atrocious winter to end. Sigh...
Yea, I am looking forward to summer.
Looooove the jazz backing.
One of my favorite Sinatra songs
I smell salt air and sunscreen!
God! I love his music
why can't we hear more of the man simply known as "the voice"? or, if you prefer, "the chairman of the board"?
?? bill, are you listening?
