She has a cool name and a nice album cover. She should sing better than this.
This is awfull, too many bland female vocalists on RP at the moment
If my squezze box has another glitch I'll let you know.

Reminds me of Shawn C - in a good way.
Great voice.

I think the "pop tune" might be part of the problem. I know people use the term "clear channel" and "pop" interchangeably (rightly or wrongly depends on your tastes) and many people don't like it because it is a pop tune. There is a certain predictability and comfort with pop type music that I generally don't like. It isn't because it isn't catchy or good, but often because it's too much like everything else that's out there and too easy. A song that is catchy and easy to process will capture the attention of the people who don't really want to have to listen to a song to process it. I can appreciate that viewpoint in today's busy society, but I prefer songs with more depth.
Not that this is a BAD song, it just doesn't bring much to the table aside from being catchy. It's a solid 6, but isn't going to be anything that is going to stand up to repeated listening.
Sweet, simple and well executed pop tune. Hard to throw negative comments about a whisper of a tune. Sweet voice too.

I remember this song is not liked much here, some critics were even pretty bad!
I cannot agree!
The song has anything one can expect from a good pop-song!
Rhythm, super melody, drive, harmonies - what the hell is missing?
I LOVE IT!!!

Okay, but couldn't you just enjoy the song without the accessories?I sure like it, and I'm happy about that . . .
Blech! Gag me!
In a recent show in Berkeley she mentioned that this song is about Woody Guthrie. That is not obvious, is it? She is a reasonably good performer, but was not hitting the higher notes without a good deal of evident straining. On another subject, it is true that there is an abundance of female singers these days playing acoustic guitar, etc. However, this is one worth listening to.

That's pretty much how I feel about her "singing".
I like the album art better than the song. Not bad, just not my style.

This song is worse than anything the Weepies pulled out of their no-no parts, and that's saying something.

This is a difficult genre in which to stand out among the rest. Sad to say
many singers in this genre sound a lot alike. Yet she does
a good a job, perhaps with lyrics and cadence ? Whatever it is,
she is unique enough to stand out as a very listenable artist.
Hearing this I wondered how many girl singers sound just like this already?
I'd never heard of this musician until RP, and I love her! Thanks for the intro

I'm STILL kicking myself for NOT attending her recent show in Gainesville, FL at the Civic Media Center. Tickets were only $8 advance / $10 door but I could not get away. Really enjoy her music. Thanks Bill & RP for the introduction...
I really didn't like this song the first time I heard it. Every time it is played now, it seems to get my attention. I think my opinion has been changed after repeated listening, I love it now.

Meh. Don't dislike the song necessarily, but I'm already tired of hearing it.
OK, this is the one AD song that I can handle in very small doses.
But the rest get an auto-mute, to be sure

This song has moments. She has a little bit too much country twang in some parts, but generally has a nice melody.
Time to go hang out at the copy machine ... I'll be back when it's over.

Hi Sidney-Pieter,
you aren't Dutch, are you? Just kidding...
I know what you mean with your critic, but do not agree. Not here, not with this song! Not tonight!
Isn't it a matter - often at least - of the moment we hear a certain song? "Ragdoll" did it for me - tonight! Often heard, middle-of-the-road, mainstream - call it as you will. It is true, but still...
groovy anyway

I´m just receiving this from amazon ( via RP, of course). I like it all, in particular the last one and, of course, Long Way.
Yes, it does sound like some other artists, and doesn't break any new ground, but I like this anyway
Those are pretty tough prerequisites just to like a song.

All too often I check the comments of a particularly bland song to find almost everyone loving it. Rather than adding a negative comment, I'll shrug and switch off.
I guess I'm in the minority, but I find this very bland; sounds like so many others of this genre. I hate her singing — sounds like a high school talent show.

Love her voice and this song is captivating! I went to rate it and found that I already had given it a 9 (meaning I would like 90% of RP songs to be like this when I'm in this mood, IAW my new rating paradigm :-).
Her voice reminds me of Lucy Kaplansky.. curious..
suuuuu-purb!
check out Big dream boulevard album..specifcally Dandelion and Helpless Kiss
That artwork is outstanding!! I'd rate that as a 10 if I could. This song is no slouch either.
Both the voice and the arrangement are reminiscent of Dar Williams, as has been noted by others.
Improves with each listen. 8>9
