Flash in the pan?
someone should let go of his balls so he can sing
"Sing like a man, Frankie!"  -comedian Jackie Mason
These vocals crack me up.  It's not really a bad song overall...
I think the song/album would be better if sung in a normal voice.
I will not miss this song when it finally fades into oblivion.
Dude, You're WAY better than these boniver guys.

Interesting fellow. I think I heard 'Blood Bank' either here or on KCRW. He's staying in the same sound, that falsetto thingy. Not sure yet. Need to hear more. Here's my cover:

Not really digging this.
BAD!

I was pretty meh about the first CD, For Emma. Liked this one a whole lot better.

Hey-it's nothing like the BeeGees!

Don't get their popularity. Sounds like three guys who can't sing trying to harmonize, and can't understand a word of what they're trying to sing.

I actually do understand those that do not like them. They aren't for everybody! But I for one do like them.

Really? I'll have to check Hackett out. I'm a big old pre-'76 lineup Genesis fan...
Bon Iver twice in one day!? {#Hearteyes}
Yeah, terminal "n" are usually silent/nasal - except when there's a vowel sound following it, as in "hiver".

About the pronounciation. If it's French then Bon pronounced as "Bone" isn't correct. In French the 'n' would be silent and the 'o' wouldn't be pronounced as "ow" but more like "aw".

That would make it "Baw Eevair".
Hmmmmm... Language can be a strange thing. {#Eh}

Holocene is their best song by Far
Highly overrated artist. Personally I can't stand his falsetto lament.

Nice version. I like it better than the original. Don't care much for the doubled vocal thing he does on a some of his stuff.

Fleet Foxes meet the Bee Gees. Cute at first, turning twee, veering irritating, ending before mute required.
Great soundtrack song for your favourite Photo Album.... Sounds like epic memories..

Reminds me of another cool tune that Radio Paradise plays.  I like
Bill pronounced it correctly.
They are a Wisconsin band from Eau Claire. In fact, the leader, Justin Vernon, lives around the corner from my daughter. The jury is still out for me, however. I will have to listen to them more.

this sounds REALLY Steve Hackett (minus the virtuoso guitar work)...

That makes three of us.

No worries, I'll listen to mp3s for a bit.

Let's just split hairs about the pronunciation of the band name. (I pronounce it "Mpthrrrrs-Donchers.")  I like this song. I like this band's music (can't like the band itself, because I don't know them personally.) I'm glad this music is being played on RP. Fire bad, tree pretty.
Awesome.

I thought similar but it seems we are both wrong.

Actually you're both half right :-)

The band name is indeed derived from the French "bon hiver" ("good winter"), but — as far as I can tell — my pronunciation is at least reasonably correct.

Is Bill mispronouncing this band name as 'bone eevair', or is that how the band say it? Surely it comes from the French Bon Hiver?

No, that is the correct pronunciation. Great song, great album BTW!

"bone eevair" it is, at least according to this:

Excited to see some Bon Iver here! I always thought they'd be really fitting on RP.
