Do you want me on your mind or do you want me to go on
I might be yours as sure as I can say
Be gone be faraway

Roses on parade, they follow you around
Upon your shore as sure as I can say
Be gone be faraway

Like fuel to fire

Into the town we go, into your hideaway
Where the towers grow, gone to be faraway
Sing quietly along

Pious words to cry into the under
Upon your shore as sure as I can say
Be gone be faraway

Oh what a day to choose
Torn by the hours
All that I say to you
Is like fuel to fire

Into the town we go, into your hideaway
Where the towers grow, gone to be faraway
Never do we know, never do they give away
Where the towers grow, only you will hear them say
Sing quietly along
Sing quietly along

Used on Vigil, a great BBC series. Worth a watch.

IDK what it sounds like.   It sounds GREAT to me!  Thanx RP!

Cool song, a bit haunting and mysterious. Also used for the opening credits in the great TV series Vigil.

Shame the second series of Vigil was so bad.

Can't help but hear faint whispers of Kate Bush. I think I love them both for similar reasons. And the way Agnes pronounces and times out words is wonderful!
Thanks to RadioParadise I've been exposed to this great talent along with Dead Can Dance. Three times I purchased tickets to their combined US tour and three times they had to cancel the tour due to Covid. At least there's still RadioParadise to present them to us.
Thank you William!

Love the harmonizing on this one.

I was wrong.  Carnival Row season 2 is available on Amazon Prime.
I first heard the instrumental beginning of this song played for the opening credits on the Canadian detective series, "Cardinal" - haunting and captivating (the song that is).
To this day, it is the only series I've ever recorded and watched where I let the credits play through completely - every single time, just so I could hear the music.  And I've included it on every playlist, I've made since I found out who the artist was.

You have probably already guessed the number rating I gave it.

This was played at the end of Last of Us (on HBO), Season 1, Episode 5.  Very fitting
Superb, stunning  ...... a beautiful 5'26"

Thank you RP   ❤️

Oooh, Agnes following Down Like Silver and Strawbs; very nice!
I found it kind of strange that we're 148 comments in and no one has discussed what this song might be about.  There's something really tragic in these lyrics.

Agnes fuels my fire all the time. Haunting.
Interesting that this piece is in the Dorian mode, while the song "Dorian" is not
Try "Familiar" if you're not familiar...

Well, now that you mention it . . .
I just cannot believe how many times a day (because RP is just about always on) that Radio Paradise just absolutely feckin DELIGHTS me. Thank you Bill and Rebecca for providing the soundtrack to my life.
Unique talent Agnes. Ethereal and soaring song. Sometimes strikes me as odd at first only to win me over every time. Every. Time.
Great! Excellent voice!
Pair her with Ludvico Einaudi.
Bought tickets in 2019 to see her open for the 2020 Dead Can Dance US tour which Covid delayed to 2021 which later lead to the tour cancellation.  Aw man!
The album is Aventine, not Avertine, the title of RP is wrong.

You certainly have an eloquent way of expressing your opinions. That's something to be proud of...
I find this lovely and dark and rich… I love me some minor reaching into higher places

this was the title theme to Vigil (BBC thiller). I knew it was familiar but couldn't quite place it until it just clicked! Can't get it out of my head now. Stunning.

Points for the use of 'gizzards' .

It sure as hell doesn't sound like "into the town we go".  I have to remind myself every time that it's not "Dude, don't go"

The lyric sound to me like- sing choirly along
Not - sing quietly along
as it is written in the lyrics posted here.

Do not hear the hard "T" sound, but a softer "R" sound
Heard this song used in an Amazon Prime show, which I would recommend, Carnival Row.  Hoping for a season 2 of the show.
How have I not heard this woman's music before?  Cleaning up the garbage dump my home office is, and realized I had stopped doing anything and was just absorbing the music.  Really nice tune

 nice
interesting, just noticed she is a Dane, great! I've learnt much from RP
very talented
Astoundingly beautiful song.
9 -> (a rare) 10
The haunting voice, the piano, the strings.... love everything about this.
Well.  Just read the lyrics and bumped this up.  What a wonderment about Love.

Not least, I wonder if 10  is more appropriate than 9.

Bill, great work for everybody who's lost someone.  Everybody Hurts, Fuel to Fire, Something Good.  Wow.  Now that I've growed up I appreciate this.
Just right. Pensive musings for a cold rainy November evening in DC.

Ah well - no harm asking!
Amazing song. Love her work. Her live concert must be incredible.

Ouch, Bill!
As I and others have remarked before, Bill is a Master of the segue.
However, the last chorus of this beautiful song got stepped on by the opening bar of the following song, (Peter Gabriel's "Burn You Up, Burn You Down)."
I really hope this was a mistake, to be edited out of the playlist before it plays again!
A few months ago, I actually heard Bill talking over the opening notes to a song. I had a little flashback to traumatic times with AM radio, circa 1970...
I have not heard that happen again, for which I am thankful.

For all of the wonderful work you do, Bill,  {#Meditate}
This album is one of my favorites, especially for those long, near-midnight drives.

Her simple, yet grand and sweeping sound, is something truly special - like as a listener, you're in on some secret only you & her share.

In fact, to make a distinction between art and commerce is something we owe to the European nobility and subsequently the Marxists and Socialists who coopted it.  There really is no distinction, not a meaningful one.  Art does not exist without commerce.  This does not mean all commerce is art and vice versa.

It's no small irony that the distinction was useful by both the Communists and the European Imperialists as a means of oppression and subjugation.  We could very easily trace the murder of one billion people by oppressors ruling under the banner of Socialism and Imperialism.  Quite often socialists were also imperialists, as in the case of China and Russia.

So, when people get up on their perch and preach anti-commercial rhetoric, they are not actually doing anything virtuous by it. They are parroting the empty doctrines passed on to us by the most blatant perpetrators of murder and evil history has ever known or ever will know.

In the 60s I took Quaaludes when I had thoughts like this.  I seem none the worse after ingesting.  Give it some thought.
Big fan.  Writing such naked songs is hard as hell.  8.
Just one from the legion of similar "actual" melancholic performers, nothing special. 4.
beautiful album - a balm for mind and ears {#Good-vibes}
Ethereal.
My daughter got to know her music when she did a college semester in Copenhagen and also had the opportunity to see her in New York and said it was one of her all-time favorite concert performances.  For what it's worth, the authentic pronunciation of her name is ow-ness oh-BELL.

I really hope you're back on the meds, rdo fella/missy

Of the 1764 Internet radio streams out there that you might really enjoy (all the RnB / Soul + Hard Rock / Metal + Classic Rock + Blues + Alt Rock + Adult Contemporary Rock), it's interesting that anyone would choose Radio Paradise (one of 326 Eclectic streams), only to complain on its format! Why, pray tell, did you, misterbearbaby? {#Ask}

Gotta agree with you, Fred the Red (I jest).
I've tried to curb my CD buying in recent years, but thanks to RP I now own both of Agnes O's discs.
Nice serene stuff.

You miss the point entirely. I make no argument that it's bad because it's long and certainly made no reference to Beethoven - that was your attempt at sarcasm. I merely said that the song in question is not of sufficient depth and quality to warrant the running time. And yes, if she did "rush out to the studio and edit it down to 3 minutes" it would probably be a better song IMHO.

Are you sure all this bluster isn't just because you're getting a little long in the tooth?  PS I thought the attempt at sarcasm was well executed.
The entire effort is simply outstanding. I regret buying the download (due to a suspected sacrifice of sound quality) and will be buying the disk.Although it is very mellow, I have been listening almost daily.

Why is it a "rant"?  Please, I really beg you to explain yourself.  It was most clearly "on topic".  Hint: read it again.  Why should we Americans be ashamed of our own culture of commerce, a culture steeped in a rich and wonderful tradition?  You are relentlessly on the attack Fred.  You have actually been quite successful in making this radio station's comment board, which has absolutely nothing to do with politics, a haven for socialists who attack anyone and everyone who comes here and says ANYTHING even remotely positive about our great, rich culture.  I will not be intimidated or bullied by you Fred and when I see you bullying others and injecting extremist rhetoric and anti-American bigotry into the discussion, you can rest assured you will hear from me.

It's so rare to hear any work of art described as "heart-meltingly beautiful and poignant" these days, but it certainly seems appropriate here!
