Had enough of heartbreak and pain
I had a little sweet spot for the rain
For the rain and skies of gray
Hello sunshine, won't you stay
You know I always liked my walking shoes
But you can get a little too fond of the blues
You walk too far, you walk away
Hello sunshine, won't you stay
You know I always loved a lonely town
Those empty streets, no one around
You fall in love with lonely, you end up that way
Hello sunshine, won't you stay
You know I always liked that empty road
No place to be and miles to go
But miles to go is miles away
Hello sunshine, won't you stay
And miles to go is miles away
Hello sunshine, won't you stay
Hello sunshine, won't you stay
Hello sunshine
I had a little sweet spot for the rain
For the rain and skies of gray
Hello sunshine, won't you stay
You know I always liked my walking shoes
But you can get a little too fond of the blues
You walk too far, you walk away

He really does have a pleasant voice, and I do adore hearing steel guitar in a song occasionally. Sweet.

Curious what this album is going to be like. The shuffle and instrumentation on this remind me a bit of "Everybody's Talkin'." That's not a bad thing...

Awesome tune. I fell back in music-jones love with Springsteen just after Katrina and he released his Pete Seeger Sessions Album in 2006. Old tunes, but playfully redone. Powerful stuff, recorded in his New Jersey farmhouse. Sure wish BG might consider playing some ...

I agree. The picture is fitting for the vibe of the song. Bruce owns horses and his daughter is a competitive rider.
Lovely song. Great cover art. Carry the West.

Intro is almost identical to Everybody's talking.
A lot of homage on this album. I quite enjoyed it.

I have the DVD of Glen Campbell's farewell tour - I haven't worked up the guts to watch it yet.

Equal parts inspiring and voyeuristic. Interesting how the mind works re: lyrics but in the end I wish I hadn't watched it. It felt like, um, well, a better and equally sad movie, One and Only Ivan.

That's a pretty fair comparison. This is clean and smooth like his work. Some folks hated Glenn for making 'Country' more 'Pop', but his stuff holds up well - unlike some of the shtuff that passes for 'Country' these days. Ugh.

Like a Glenn Campbell tribute...but I like it...it’s the Boss!

Well, there you go. The spice of life and all that. I don't generally buy into the fanatic appreciation of all things Bruce, but this is one of the best things I've heard this guy put out there. And then to follow with Roy Buchanan - good God, RP. This is inspired stuff!!!
midnight cowboy but that's all good
Certainly channelling his inner Gordon Lightfoot and in this case that's a good thing!
Lovely song. Great cover art. Carry the West.
Moonlight Motel is a nice cut off this album as well
Love this album, more and more !
Chris Gurl loves this song
Good Time Bruce Has Got The Blues
Everybody's goin' away
Said they're movin' to LA
There's not a soul I know around
Everybody's leavin' town
Some caught a freight, some caught a plane
Find the sunshine, leave the rain
They said this town's a waste of time
I guess they're right, it's wastin' mine
Some gotta win, some gotta lose
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Ya know my heart keeps tellin' me
"You're not a kid at thirty-three"
"Ya play around, ya lose your wife"
"Ya play too long, you lose your life"
I got my pills to ease the pain
Can't find a thing to ease the rain
I'd love to try and settle down
But everybody's leavin' town
Some gotta win, some gotta lose
Good time Charlie's got the blues
Everybody's goin' away
Said they're movin' to LA
There's not a soul I know around
Everybody's leavin' town
Some caught a freight, some caught a plane
Find the sunshine, leave the rain

It's not a ballad. 120something bpm - way too fast!

I like this single. Always reminds me of Glen Campbell's version of "Gentle On My Mind."

Nice 70's vibe. A soupçon of Nilsson.

Makes me curious. Will "Sundown" be a cover of Gordon Lightfoot?
