the passing time is not my life
the thorn that's in my side
is all these scenes that we regret
the wasted words we can't forget
through the windows of my room
i hear the traffic breathing slowly
someplace miles away
make promises pay
shame, will shake this house
shame, will shake this house
your dreams are not my life
these broken words are not my life
your lies are none of my invention
your promises were not plan
now the party girls have gone
i hear the rattle of their heels
before their footsteps fade
make promises pay
shame, will shake this house
shame, will shake this house
the passing time is not my life
i've been counted down and shouted out
i had everything i wanted
nothing i can't rise above
to let it show was not my plan
headlines and frontpages
sell weddings and divorces
make promises pay
make promises pay
shame, will shake this house
shame, will shake this house
I needed something my team could trust, so you separate must-do steps from optional ones. The author circled back to show that you call out hidden costs early. I will keep this handy for future projects. 강남 보스턴 https://boston.isweb.co.kr/
I agree with both! I gave this tune an 8! Thanx RP!

"Into You Like a Train" was great, also "India."
Hey Camper Van Beethoven your dad's here...
Reminds me of Catherine Wheel's "Crank", which is a good thing. Richard Butler has a cool voice.
I love both bands and am embarrassed to admit that I never drew that connection between them- but it all definitely follows a train of thought, doesn't it?
On another note- this particular Furs album really sounds like the end of an era, and a course correction after Midnight to Midnight.

Good Tune! Dumb Waiters is my favorite PF tune!
I agree with both! I gave this tune an 8! Thanx RP!

saw these guys at the Adams Avenue Theater in San Diego in Nov '82. Slam dancing in the mosh pit - it was a wild affair.
The Ken cinema ? (now closed)
Saw them on their last tour with James as the opener. James was transcendent, PF were ghoulish. We laugh every time a PF track comes on the radio.
James was so good at the Philly Show that I left halfway through the furs show, and I really like the Furs.
Nice to hear this On RP.
BTW Their latest "Make It Rain" (2020) won't disappoint the older Furs fan
Then I saw them in Orlando and during the encore RB was singing a song so new he had to read the lyrics off of a piece of paper but they invited people up from the audience and they FILLED the stage. Pretty cool moment actually.
Look after the king of R n R please
I did that a bunch in college. At least you made $60. all we got were free smokes and beer at the end of the gig with our t-shirt
shit!! bad memories?

I really like most tracks I'm hearing now, on RP.
Replying to myself - just spotted they are playing Rock City in Nottingham in October, just after my birthday. Might need to make some not-so-subtle suggestions...

Nice. That was a great time to be in NYC. Cool tune.
Second that. Was in college just a few blocks up from Irving Plaza back then. It was a great time and I knew it then.
Nice. That was a great time to be in NYC. Cool tune.
Right!? my rent was $150 a month for a dive in East Harlem, those were the days (daze) : )
love the furs

Me too!!!
; )

Does this man have 3 arms?
; )

Thanks for playing, though I'd much rather hear the "long version" from the Sony "Theodore" sampler LP. Which is still an all-time fave.
Too bad.
Sure, but we've all heard those a thousand times already.
i think we all associate a certain voice with a specific performance and we can not imagine anything being as good or better in their career.
I rated this a 5, why would I rate anything a 5?![]()
Because it's not 1/2 bad..

Theodore was "an alternative music sampler" which was released around 1988 or '89, and featured this "long version" of this tune.
Worth buying a copy of Theodore. I still have it in rotation in my tunes.

It only starts with the dancing. Then it leads to playing cards....
Next thing you know, it's 4 AM, you're in a Vegas hotel room ordering pizza and in the background, RomeoTuna is leading 32 people in dance.
Not that there's, y'know, anything wrong with that (as long as you invite the rest of us ;) )

Missed it, but how good is the album Forever Now? Any track from that would be joyful!!
agreed

EXACTLY!!!!!!

Hey, that's what I was gonna say!

Along way....
from WALES to ENGLAND!
amen
...where else but radio paradise would we hear someone pull off such a perfectly invigorating playlist?..
Not to my ears. For one thing, the vocals of each group are entirely different from one another. Same era, different vibes.
I thought Bill was anti-fur. Wait till PETA hears about this!
Quality tune.
It may be old but it's great to hear. I'll have to look through my closet to find that Sony "Theodore" sampler - it had lots of fun stuff on it. But it's great to hear this long version of the Furs' "House" again. Sing it Richard!
I still want to know how that joke he's telling when he falls through the ceiling tiles ends...
