Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin
And constant (Constant)
Craving (Craving)
Has always (Always)
Been (Been)
Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls to what's true
Or maybe it is life itself
That feeds wisdom to its youth
Constant (Constant)

Ah, constant craving
Has always been

Anybody remember the lawsuit between her and the Rolling Stones about this song? If memory serves me, she sued them when they released their (crappy) song "Has Anybody Seen My Baby?" claiming it was a rip-off of this. I think she even won.
[after quickie internet search]
In the mid-1990s, The Rolling Stones faced a potential lawsuit from k.d. lang over similarities between their song "Anybody Seen My Baby?" and her song "Constant Craving". The Stones added k.d. lang and her co-writer, Ben Mink, to the songwriting credits to avoid legal action.
This darn song was waaaaaaaaaaay overplayed here in Canada back in the day and I still can't stand it as a result.
Still can’t (21 years after that comment)

Love it.
Love it.

So horribly torn. 8 or 9 for her voice. 6 for the music. 4 for the lyrics. What to rate this?
Take a deep breath our friend and bang in a 10...!!

How does it move you? It's an 8 for me.
Absolutely fabulous voice. I mean like Ella F.
But she doesn't seem to get the right songs for her voice.
This is a good one. Wish there were more.
There are more.

Is this almost over?
Two more minutes.
It's a fabulous song but really - she must have some other tunes worth playing on RP.
Definitely. Her 'Shadowland' album is full of great tracks, and her version of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen is excellent.
Constant… Repetitive… Lyrics.
That's called a "chorus"; they tend to have a repetition of lyrics. Look it up.
Good Gawd; can this really be 30 years old?!
Beautiful song and album nonetheless.
Truth!
Beautiful song and album nonetheless.
So, after all my slaps on her, I'll say nicely done on this.
. . . I'll get me coat. . .
Down with capitalism!

I hope not.
Deja vue?

I am continually impressed by anyone's willingness to actually demonstrate their ignorance for the general public. A tip o' the Hatlo hat to you, my friend. You've got guts.
True, flippin' awesome, band as well. Magic song too!
No longer a fan - but this stands out as a classic.
Hear, hear! Cohen's 'Hallelujah' is also on her magnificent tribute to Canadian singer/songwriters: 'Hymns of the 49th Parallel' on the Nonesuch label. Tunes from Neil Young ('After the Gold Rush', 'Helpless'); Joni Mitchell ('A Case of You'); Jane Siberry ('Love is Everything'); Bruce Cockburn ('One Day I Walk') and more, as well as Cohen's 'Bird on a Wire' and 'Hallelujah'.
All of 'em just awesome, please check out this album.
I think you'll want to play more kaydee!

I was just listening to this CD in my car the other day...you know it's good when the hair on your neck stands up. I second the recommendation—if you haven't heard this album, check it out.
luckily i had the chance to go back and return it

I've not really cared one way or another about much of her stuff.
That said.
Damn, the lady has one heck of a set of pipes! No?
