Am I the only one who thinks of Ozzie Smith on the Simpsons when I hear this song? Probably.
What an amazing group; glad they are getting more well-known these days -- they deserve to be! I also love seeing that album artwork every time...like a young Jason Schwartzman in a wacky existential comedy movie. Some Family Values being transferred here, Albert? ... Not ALL co-incidences are meaningful!
I love the quirky songs that Britt writes and sings. I have been a huge fan of Spoon since 2002 when a DJ friend of mine at a NPR WNC station made me a mixed CD from his ARC Overnight show he did. Kill the Moonlight had just come out and he had The Way We Get By and All the Pretty Girls in the City on the cd. I was hooked. I love everything they do. I am surprised they are not bigger. Another great band from Austin, Tx.

SPOOOOOOON! Fell in love with them a few years ago - playing an album over and over. Then falling in love with every other album one by one. Each one is different but totally awesome. Sometimes I wonder how they did not get more recognition over the years.

Cuz if I were putting a substantial number of tunes in the low zone, I wouldn't even be here, or feel the need to rate anything, because I wouldn't be listening. But, I give 7's and above because this is an amazing, magical station. What a great sign that I have good luck because I stumbled upon RP. There's a LOT of good stuff here, and I've been introduced to a handful of artists that I'd possibly never have heard (Spoon being one of them). But if I never heard Tracy Chapman, Leonard Cohen, Suzanne Vega, U2, Pearl Jam or Norah Jones again I wouldn't mind in the least.

There are a few I rate below 7, but most of the time not far enough to actually bother rating, But, yeah, there is a reason I been listening for how ever long (looking back I joined on 12/25/2001, but I know I listened longer before joining up).

I'll echo the love for BnR, in fact I'd love to see a documentary made about Radio Paradise *and William& Co..*
I will say that I utilize the entire rating zone, from 1-10, and try to keep the bell curve centered at the 7 range. I usually rate new-to-my-ears tracks at a 6 unless it really grabs me, it's a mental note that "this track is in the 'Mystery Zone' - this one's an 8...Long Live RP and our continued blessing at this musical oasis!!

Spoon is an acquired taste! But once you bite into it, they are very addicting. This album doesn't disappoint. It is a bit difficult to get to know but after a few listens, it is apparent that they are exploring new directions and taking their music into new boundaries. They remind me of Porcupine Tree in their approach, their sounds are totally different.

I don't know, I try to like this band, but the guy's voice just grates on me.
Easily the most overplayed band on RP. They keep my mute button shiny. Solid 1. (Solid waste.)
