Ain't but one way out baby, and Lord I just can't go out the door.
Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know.
Lord you got me trapped woman, up on the second floor;
If I get by this time I won't be trapped no more.
So raise your window baby, and I can ease out soft and slow.
And lord, your neighbors, no they won't be
Talking that stuff that they don't know.
Lord, I'm foolish to be here in the first place,
I know some man gonna walk in and take my place.
Ain't no way in the world, I'm going out that front door
Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know.
Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know.
Cause there's a man down there,
Lord, it just might happen to be your man...
Lord, it just a might be your man,
Mmm-mm-mmm-mm...
Lord, it just a might be your man,
Oh baby, I just don't know..
Hey, I was raised to worship Duane but gotdammit Dicky's solo steals the show!
One of my all time favorite compact guitar solos!
Nope
That is what the "skip button" is for. ...problem solved! Along with many other RP listeners, I think that this is a GREAT TUNE!
Saw them when I was about 16 at the Orange Bowl in Miami not long after this Album came out. Right before they took the stage they had a peach eating contest. I can't recall the other bands but there was a full day of them. And back then tickets were under $15. Good times.
Cool! I wish that I could have been there too!
Rock'n night at the Jube it was

Saw them at the Tabernacle downtown during Gregg's last tour with the band. His voice gave out after three or four tunes and somebody else (?) filled in for the next 45 mins. Not a bad replacement, and I'm embarrassed I don't know who it was.
Looking forward to seeing Gregg, Duane, Berry, and whoever else they've got in the angelic lineup. I'll be patient though; lots more to do and see on Earth.

Huh? Could we hear an elaboration on your opinion? or just a simple answer as to why? I think we'd all appreciate ,and maybe learn something from that.
My HS girlfriend told me The Allman Brothers band was an ordinary band. In that moment she became my ex-girlfriend. Looking back now at that decision-it was a good decision.
I hope you dropped her before she got to band.

Me too as he could have been the man on the other side of the door.
A truly great song but may mean something different to another.

She was talkin about stuff that she don't know

Pure Quality at its Finest.
Bill, please don't play Counting Crows or John Cougar after this.
One year out of college for me.
10.

From the Wiki in the right panel:
"Group leader Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident later that year – on October 29, 1971, and the band dedicated Eat a Peach (1972) to his memory, a dual studio/live album that cemented the band's popularity and..."
Gregg, Butch, Berry, Duane ... all dead. I suppose that's the absolute "One Way Out".

Absolutely!
And I still have it on vinyl!

Absolutely!

Update 2022; This classic is now half a century old!

You know, I never notice my tinnitus until somebody mentions it, thank you very much.

I thought he and Cher were only married for nine days. Amazed but thankful that Gregg's still alive...
Even if it is only 9 days, it has to be the strangest nine days......what a weird combo!

You stated that so well!! This COULD be my favorite AB song....

That's all.
You can say its my Favorite group of musicians tight , timeless, original and pure!
Wore out & had to buy multiple copies of all that plus of course the vinyl. And everything from their first album through Brothers & Sisters. Started a rock & roll band in 1972 - bass player - and the first song we attempted was Whipping Post. Lordy that was a badass bass line for a 19-year-old that had played bass for all of 2 months.
I enjoy saying that at work from time to time, apropo of nothing.
