Tell me everything
I just want to talk to you
I won't do you no harm
I just want to know about your different lives
On this is here people farm
I heard some of you got your families
Living in cages tall and cold
And some just sit there and dust away
Past the age of old
Is this true ?
Please let me talk to you
I just wanna know
The rooms behind your minds
Uh do I see a vacuum there
Or am I going blind ?
Or is it just remains of vibrations
And they happen long ago ?
Things like "Love the world" and
"Let your fancy flow"
Is this true ?
Please let me talk to you
Is this true ?
I just wanna talk to you
I just want to talk to you
I won't do you no harm
I just want to know about your different lives

i am afraid this is a no and I think Jimi would concur, frankly
Bellybutton Window?
She's kind of a crazy cat.
We need more of them.
But...they need to be careful with them explosives.

Rickie Lee does the best covers, she takes others songs and makes them uniquely hers.

This should work. But for me, it just doesn't.
Really love this, it's got something neat and foot-tappin' about it...
great memories of a better time. Snapping fingers, no regrets. Thanks for the play

Not her best track by far. But cute and jazzy. Xx
Good rendition, but makes me want to hear Tom Waites..

"I come back to see, the stars misplaced.." This dude is out of the ordinary. Blessings to you, Jimi H.
Aw, yeah. A lovely jazzy groove, with just the right dash of 'tude. I think Jimi would be boppin' along.
I'd like all the lyrics please... 😊
She should have cleaned her nose before the recording.

Long Live RP and Ann/Cynaera's memorable posts!!
I love the line she wrote "I'm a bitch on wheels with two glasses of Chardonnay in her. Not exactly the same as a gun, but who knows what I'll do with my empty glass?
I'd like to think that out thete somewhere is a delicious and bent collaboative lovechild born of RLJ and Tom Waits.
And speaking of delicious and bent, scrolling down I see another delightfully snarky comment from Cynaera, accompanied (as they often are) by a lamentation of her absence. I don't know the history here but whatever the reasons I too am sorry for her absence as her comments are(were?) always a treat.

Out of several covers of this tune (see also Ellen MacIlwain), I like this best. Swingin'! Nice album too.

So what if RP was taken over by female balladeers? Today's playlist proves that it's not an ongoing concern (and I bet that Eddie Vedder would resent being referred to as a "Female Balladeer.") Please feel free to take up knitting or basket-weaving (oh, wait - that's "feeeeemale stuff") whenever RP gets "taken over by female balladeers." Geez - sometimes I'm ashamed that humans are still allowed to breed.
Okay, I had a bad day today, and I hurt in places I didn't know I had (make of that what you will.) I'm sure the music here will calm me down, but in the meantime, I'm a bitch on wheels with two glasses of Chardonnay in her. I'm liking the shuffle, the swing...
I LOVE Jimi, and have for several decades. I find this version to be playful, whimsical, and fun. Kinda like it. But then, I am not in the altered state that I was so often during my formative years of listening to Jimi.
Fun cover!

Jimi was an innovative musician but not much of a poet.
This silly cover makes that clear.

Nice cover by RLJ at any rate...
We are all star children my son. Except for some primeval hydrogen and helium, every atom in our bodies was manufactured in some star that went supernova and spread itself across the galaxy. If you take enough LSD, like Jimmie did, you become somewhat aware of that..

This is interesting, but I prefer the version by Sting and Gil Evans live at the Perugia Jazz Festival on a CD called Last Session, a *great* CD!
Ricky Lee Jones covering a Jimi Hendrix song?? Interesting ... not awful, but a little twisted for so early in the morning ...! The Quite Likeable rating is leaning on Jimi's songwriting, not necessarily her voice!
