Squint your eyes and look closer
I'm not between you and your ambition
I am a poster girl with no poster, I am 32 flavors and then some
And I'm beyond your peripheral vision so you might want to turn your head
'Cause someday you're going to get hungry and eat all of the words that you just said
I am what I am, I am 32 flavors and then some
God help you if you are an ugly girl
Course too pretty is also your doom
'Cause everyone harbors a secret hatred for the prettiest girl in the room
God help you if you are a phoenix and you dare to rise up from ash
A thousand eyes will smolder with jealousy while you are just flying past
I am what i am, I am 32 flavors and then some
I'm taking my chances as they come
I am 32 flavors and then some, I'm nobody but I am someone, someone...
I'd never try to give my life meaning by demeaning you
And I would like to state for the record...
I did everything that I could do
I am beyond your peripheral vision so you might want to turn your head
'Cause someday you're going to be starving and eating al the words that you just said
That you said
I am what I am, I am what I am
I am 32 flavors and then some
I'm taking my chances as they come
I am 32 flavors and then some
I'm looking for truth and there is none
32 flavors and then some
I'll never forget where I came from
32 flavors and then some
I'm nobody but I am someone
32 flavors and then some
I'm taking my chances as they come
32 flavors and then some
Looking for truth and there is none

Tastes are wide spreaded, but there must be some spirit around her: https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wik, what I do like. And her fans too. I mean Ani Difranco.
I had no idea Alannis Morrisette and Ani DiFranco had a daughter
I think my favorite covers reveal something about the original that was sort of hidden (like when you take a really intense pop tune, recreate it as a slow acoustic number, and suddenly the depth of the lyrics pop out -- just one example).

This one seems more like a re-enactment.

Hey Bill and Rebecca how about more Ani DiFranco?

You asked, Bill delivered......see right panel.
Love this gal's voice and her tune.

Very cool, mellow.

Yep.

I loathe this cover.  It's so poppy and cheery and just god awful.  Ruins an excellent song.

I have to agree, just misses the emotions of the original, loses its intensity.
Boy she REALLY sounds like Ani, doesn't she?

Yes, let's hear the original

I agree. More Ani DiFranco. This version is quite good, but Ani’s original is better.

Love love love Alana! This version is da bomb!
Yep, had to see if it was Natalie Merchant. Love this. So relaxing. Thanks Bill & Becky!

haven't heard thus is years! very enjoyable :)
I actually heard this before I was aware of Ani. Love the original, still like this one. She has a very interesting singing style. Wouldn't mind hearing Under The Rainbow on RP.

This is a fun song that has added to my step. Never heard this version before. Curious if any men have done a cover of it?

It's OK but the acoustic version by Ani from her set on Sessions at West 54th is the only version of this song I need.  Smashes the others to pieces.
Yikes... {#Stop}
I love Ani, but this has always been my favorite version of this song.  Thanks for playing, RP!

Would love to hear the original -- Ellen McIlwaine
Very nice cover.
I much prefer the original Ani di Franco. This melodic inversion just doesn't do it for me.

Tot it was.
Not quite your average kind of 'pussy monologues' contribution, it seems.
