On September 17, 1996,[ at a benefit concert for her at The Bayou, she made her final public appearance, closing the set with "What a Wonderful World" in front of an audience of family, friends, and fans. Additional chemotherapy was ineffective, and Cassidy died on November 2, 1996, of melanoma, at her family's home in Bowie, Maryland.[ In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated and the ashes were scattered on the lake shores of St. Mary's River Watershed Park, a nature reserve near Callaway, Maryland.

It's on youtube.
From what I understand, this is the last recording she ever made. It was recorded at a benefit concert in her honor shortly before she died of carcinoma. She came out with a walker and laid this down. Pretty damn good I think.
That did nothing for me I\'m afraid.

I believe this was the last song she ever performed in public - at the Bayou in Georgetown.
I\'d prefer to hear the Louie Armstrong version
Sounds more than a bit like Bonnie Raitt in her quiet ballads, but younger and having been through less.
If this is not her best, wow, I can't wait to hear more. Her vocals are crisp and her intonation is almost perfect.
Eva Cassidy\'s voice is so wonderful - but she has far better songs then this one. Don\'t discount her based on this remake - she is a gem.
