Tender is the night
Lying by your side
Tender is the touch
Of someone that you love too much
Tender is the day
The demons go away
Lord I need to find
Someone who can heal my mind

Come on come on come on
Get through it
Come on come on come on
Love's the greatest thing
Come on come on come on
Get through it
Come on come on come on
Love's the greatest thing
That we have
I'm waiting for that feeling
I'm waiting for that feeling
Waiting for that feeling to come

Oh my baby
Oh my baby
Oh why
Oh my

Tender is the ghost
The ghost I love the most
Hiding from the sun
Waiting for the night to come
Tender is my heart
I'm screwing up my life
Lord I need to find
Someone who can heal my mind

Come on come on come on
Get through it
Come on come on come on
Love's the greatest thing
Come on come on come on
Get through it
Come on come on come on
Love's the greatest thing
That we have
I'm waiting for that feeling
I'm waiting for that feeling
Waiting for that feeling to come

Oh my baby
Oh my baby
Oh why
Oh my

Come on come on come on
Get through it
Come on come on come on

Come on come on come on
Get through it
Come on come on come on
Love's the greatest thing
That we have
I'm waiting for that feeling
I'm waiting for that feeling
Waiting for that feeling to come

Oh my baby
Oh my baby
Oh why
Oh my

Tender is the light
Lying by your side
Tender is the touch
Of someone that you love too much
Tender is my heart you know
I'm screwing up my life
Oh Lord I need to find
Someone who can heal my mind

Come on come on come on
Get through it
Come on come on come on

Not that there is anything wrong with this, but all the band members look Asian.  Except for that red-headed guy on the far left.

OK SURE CALL ME RACIST NOW
I had a big crush on Damon and to be honest, it has never gone away..!
Boring, uninspiring vocals and the song drones on for far too long, but some decent guitar work

Your question is tautologous, which rather makes a mockery of the point I think you're trying to make.

Come on, repetition is inherently part of music, but this is simply annoying. Come on this is repetitious, repetitious, repetitious, repetitious, etc.
Putting this album on for the first time was when I realised how ridiculous all those comparisons with Oasis were and how Albarn was in a whole other ballpark.

I was in the Glastonbury crowd for their 2009 comeback headline. The huge crowd wouldn't stop singing this chorus long after the band had stopped. Damon Allbran was in tears. I'm not a great Blur fan but that football crowd was very moving.

oh, wow. i wish i could have been there for that.

i love this song so much.

Yes - it concludes at 7:29.

As will we all
Love how this song loops around and around and around

Why oh do idiots post this drivel rather than skip…  Oh I get it you are soooo evolved that you can’t enjoy a pop song.  Fuck off twat
just raised this to 9 from 7

I don't agree at all, but that is pretty damn funny.
wow. i think this was the first blur track that really hooked me. haven't heard it in years. thanks!

Tender is the ghost
The ghost I love the most

I can picture the songwriter giving himself a satisfied smile after that and saying "man I kick ass!"
This was from 1999? My past life. Wow.
Backup singers! I love that. Beats overdubbing imo.
I remember the first time I heard this song, driving in Paradise in an old VW Bug. good memories.
This dog goes on forever.  AS IF!!  gave it a 3.
Tender is the ghost
The ghost I love the most

I can see the songwriter sitting there "man, what rhymes with ghost?  toast? no I can't put that in a song, let's see... boast, host, roast, coast... no, how about 'most'... yes we'll go with 'most'".

I will also go against all the haters out there and say that this song is a perfect 10. Awesome Blur track about Damon Albarn's breakup with Elastica frontwoman Justine Frishmann. Glorious arrangement and heartfelt lyrics that really drive home the heartache and longing. Just a phenomenal song.

I don't like this song - that's all - I am not a hater :)
Does this song ever end?

I can't tell if you're being cereal...
Now...'this' I like!
Man, parts of this sound like Godley/Creme singing.
This Damon guy has some talent.
Thanks RP for playing Gorillaz, etc, etc.
Quality stuff.
Feck me, Damon, mate, but this is dull. Snoresville. A great lullaby or anaesthetic for open heart surgery.
Somehow I think an opportunity was missed here, parts of this song are great, and others are simply...awful
If you like these vocals, you'll love Dylan.  5
This is my first hearing, exactly when I wished that RP would play something I don't already know well. But, this is not striking me as the piece that does it. How this gets into any rotation eludes me. But that's how it works.

I legit thought this was a David Byrne song before I heard "the other vocalist" and came here to see who it was.
Great song but a little bit too long.

I am gonna break from the norm and say I actually like this song. Love is awesome, embrace it like you would a particularly nice burger.
Why is it that as soon as turn on this station in an effort to show someone the great songs they play this crud is on (and on, and on, and on). They left, and I can't blame them!

There really is no sight like a bunch of women in heavy PVC aprons, wellies and woolen jumpers (sweaters) standing in a sea of scallops, water, sand, shells and shite all cutting as fast as they can go, swaying in unison to a beautiful song........
Did you ever hear BillG trying to quote your comment on this song? --- it was hilarious --> couldn't say "All the girls at the seafood factory ..." without cracking up!
The image which comes to mind, listening to this song is a rowboat floating down the stream on a big river in some tropical land. The rowers are rowing on the tempo, set by the beat, played on a tom tom.
All the girls at the seafood factory are onto something. Love this song.

Always did like this song. All the girls at the seafood factory would cut scallops while swaying gently in unison to this tune - like a field of barley in a gently breeze......
Man, I love these posts! Thanks for the visual, aharmanx
Same repetition as "Louis, Louis", less than half the fun! Really, this is terrible stuff. Brainless and boring and it goes on WAY longer than it needs to.
This is just simply DRECK.
:x
oh my god...PLEASE, make it stop!
Yo! Brit rock rules!!!

It IS cool...and I thought I heard Neil Young at one point as well.
This is a very strange song...something in me likes it, but at the same time I want to crush my speakers under a heavy object. Sounds like a 5 to me.

It is a beautiful image indeed! I always loved that song from the moment I heard it - and I love Blur!

What a beautiful image--didn't really like the song until I read this and saw the picture - an opening for a great indie film perhaps. What is music but the background that makes our lives like art....

Although I find txcharlie66's comment endlessly amusing, I don't dislike this song. If it were half the length I'd probably even like it. At this point though I'm wondering if the mp3 is skipping... if that's even possible...
Tender are my nerves. Stop playing this one.
MORE BLUR PLEASE!!!!!!! OR EVEN SOME GORILLAZ
This must have been recorded with the record player on the wrong speed. Sounds like the Beach Boys on downers. blur. They blur the line between beach music and transcendental meditation.
Horrible - I want to put a screw driver through my eardrums.
I like it! ....provided me with the swift kick to the ass that I needed this morning... Thanks :D
Good song, a side of Blur I've never encountered before. Would love to hear some more Blur! I said that? Song didn't do anything for me this time. Blah 6/13/03
more blur, please! :D

It would sound a lot better if someone would upload a higher-bitrate version (hint, hint). This is at 128k which makes it sound "mushy" after it's re-encoded for the stream.
can\'t say I like this too much. Just doesn\'t seem so coherent with the indistinct background vocals.
Come on, come on, come on, ..., and *please* end. Ugh. I don\'t care for this at all. :(
Does it ever end? Can I beg for mercy or something?
Ok, but than we might as well love Mull Of Kintyre, now don\'t we? (the way it sold, we probably do)
Wow! What can you say about these guys? This band can make just about any type of music...everything from Tender to Song 2. Nice to hear these blokes here. Over all, a very very good song. Excellent backing vox, IMHO.
Pretty decent. I couldn\'t believe this was the same band that did \"Woo hoo!\"
Never paid no mind to this band. Now, this song is great.
one of those rare songs that gets better each time you listen to it
