It's been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said, "I'm angry"
Five days since you laughed at me saying
"Get back together come back and save me"
Three days since the living room
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
But it'll still be two days 'til I say I'm sorry

Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
You'll think you're looking at Aquaman
I summon fish to the dish, although I like the Chalet Swiss
I like the sushi
'Cause it's never touched a frying pan
Hot like wasabi when I bust rhymes
Big like LeAnn Rimes
Because I'm all about value
Bert Kaempfert's got the mad hits
You try to match wits, you try to hold me but I bust through
Gonna make a break and take a fake
I'd like a stinking aching shake
I like vanilla, it's the finest of the flavours
Gotta see the show, 'cause then you'll know
That vertigo is gonna grow
'Cause it's so dangerous
You'll have to sign a waiver

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean?
Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air
And said, "You're crazy"
Five days since you tackled me
I've still got the rug burns on both my knees
It's been three days since the afternoon
You realized it's not my fault
Not a moment too soon
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
And now I sit back and wait 'til you say you're sorry

Chickity China the Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'
Watchin' X-Files with no lights on
We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford I'm getting frantic
Like Sting I'm tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy

Like Kurosawa I make mad films
Okay, I don't make films
But if I did they'd have a Samurai
Gonna get a set a' better clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs
Just so my irons aren't always flying off the back-swing
Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
'Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin' hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean?
You soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of losing my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to your sides
And said, "I'm sorry."
Five days since I laughed at you and said
"You just did just what I thought you were gonna do"
Three days since the living room
We realized we're both to blame
But what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause it'll still be two days 'til we say we're sorry

It'll still be two days 'til we say we're sorry
It'll still be two days 'til we say "Wasabi"

Nice little patter song, try singing along for tongue-twisting fun.
Viz:  Gilbert & Sullivan's
"I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General"

only took BillG 13 years to add this back to the main mix. Call it a 6+1 for nostalgic reasons..LLRP!!

Nerds with no taste should rally around They Might Be Giants instead, since that tends to obscure what they lack. BNL just amplifies it.

mmmm, RPelitest eh? just cause a song has mass appeal we should shun it? why not give a real reason why the song doesn't measure up and not just because your 8 year old cousin would bounce around in the backseat of the car when it would come on. All said, this is not the best work from BNL, I definitely enjoy their music but this song was never their best work, a decent six still.

There are 2 things I don't understand: 1. Why does everyone hate a fun, not-to-serious upbeat song like this? 2. The Beatles were on before this song. Why are all the doped up Beatles songs rated so highly? They are THE most overrated band in history.
go you!

I get perverse pleasure giving this song a 1. After hearing it all these years on the radio I can finally record just how much I dislike it!

Wrong! I actually enjoy this one ... makes me smile.
It's not a crime to enjoy a pop-rock song on occasion. This song is fun, relax + enjoy... I agree, I like it.
These guys are ok...I own a CD by them...however, when they follow the Beatles, I realize how semi-lame they really are....

More than a quarter of us gave this song a 1, its most popular rating. Probably won't be hearing much more of it on RP. That's a good thing.

Mainstream eclectic? Sure. That'll make me feel better. This song doesn't, though.

I am soooooooooooooooo glad I missed this one. If I could do negative numbers, I would.
I don't think that I can hate anything BNL does, but I much prefer the Gordon - Pirate Ship era, before they decided to climb the American pop charts.
One of the most entertaining concerts I have ever seen, and not because of the music, though that wasn't bad either

If I hadn't thoroughly hated this song already, seeing "Little Scotty Hamilton" ice skate to it would have detailed the job of compartmentalizing it in my brain in the place where only deep trauma dwells.
man, you must STILL be in therapy!!
This is fun, great wind up tune.
gawd this is awful.

I can see by the rating distribution for this song that I'm not the only one that hates it passionately. This song makes me want to kick a really cute puppy. That's bad. The masters should be encased in concrete and sunk in the deepest sea.
The perverse side of me likes it when a song I enjoy is loathed by a large section of the population. The more people hate it the pleasure I get from listening to it. I am going to name this phenomenon is "The Smiths Syndrome".
Am I the only one that hears a They Might Be Giants kind of thing in this song...?
I like this song. I wish that I didn't but, gosh darnit, I do. I suck.

We should have the Weird Al parody of this one :oD.
This isn't the Weird Al version? Usually can't say anything bad but this...oh so totally unrateable...
People don't seem to like this song much. It's not Dark Side of the Moon, but it's OK with me. Then again, I like comedy in my music.

Hey Pips..I totally understand. Yer old and ya can't understand this new music...It's okay. Take your pill and relax...
This is definitely one weak song. mwah ha ha ha

well, it's been 5 years....do you all like this song any more with a break?
I liked it in the first place, and I still do.
...and I'm switching to KCRW for good. Take care, RPO listeners, Bill & Becca. Aloha
We should have the Weird Al parody of this one :oD.
Bill we went 5 years without hearing this song. Why on earth did you bring it back? ARGGGGGGGGGGG.
well, it's been 5 years....do you all like this song any more with a break?

I'll take it even further... I can't even begin to express how much I can't stand this band.
where is the gone to the head icon?
It is a funny song. And if you can\'t stand it because it is being used in a television ad: don\'t watch tv, then :D But I can understand if you\'re annoyed: Lenny Kravitz made the same mistake here in Europe. Since then, I don\'t watch tv and don\'t listen to Lenny anymore :p

I really like the song along with almost everything on Stunt, but I\'m definitely burnt on it. It shouldn\'t be the BNL song we hear 75% of the time. In fact, there shouldn\'t be any song by one artist we hear that often, eh? This song is so mainstream now it\'s the one that they played when they appeared on \"The West Wing\" two days ago. Aimee Mann was on too, and she was extremely cool, singing a song I\'d never heard before. Hard to believe!!!
i feel pimples erupting when i listen to this.
I\'ll agree that it\'s a tad(!) overplayed, but it falls into the listenable goofiness like the B-52\'s.. I tried to upload some more BNL, but rejection ensued...

This is so overplayed, which makes it annoying. Saying words fast doesn't really do anything for me, I get enough of that from car commercials.
Kinda surprised to hear this, as it really got beat up on radio. A pretty decent song, but there are some real gems on Stunt that deserve airplay. \"I\'ll Be That Girl\" and \"Call and Answer\" are both amazing. I\'ll try to remember to upload them tonight if they aren\'t already here.
