lyrics might help; that said i occasionally make up my own just to sing along. loved early Cocteau Twins for this among other reasons

This tune absolutely rocks!  LLRP1
getting stabbing westward vibes
what do i have to do
Scandi-Rock at its finest 👌
I know I risk breaking the magic, but does anybody know about translated lyrics?
What an amazing song!!! Marvellous. A big 10

According to her Wikipedia entry, Mari Boine isn't just a singer, but also an activist and a university professor, and sings in her native Sami tongue. All the songs by her that RP have played have grabbed my attention, in a good way - so eclectic, so different, so very RP. This song gives me the willies, as good music should.

You have really nailed it there, fredriley.🐨

+1 to 8 cuz my 43 y/o self is smirking at the 21 y/o me who wouldn't have liked this when it was released.  Not that I ever would have heard it...Long Live RP for that!!

I'm at a loss, and I would love to find it because it's otherworldy to hoop to!

got it!! correct title "Alddagasat Ipmilat"
took me a while :-)
This seemed to have elements of what Heilung does in it.  Interesting sound, I like it.

This song, and the last few too, are totally awesome for a Monday Morning Groove!! Thanks RP!!

I was thinking Bjorki Boine, but the production IS very 3Desque.

1998?! Wow. Same year as Mezzanine.
Massive Sami Attack!
Interesting she posted her myspace address in 2009
Surely one of the more intriguing, gotta-get-used-to-it tracks here on RP. At first I said, what the hell? Than: that's compelling and cool. I've heard it here before but just paid attention to it.

No,,,, actually its more Dothracki Witch than Melisandre
Wicked cool, Killer-good! and for sure the throbbing, burbling, fluid bass conjures up Floyd; also strong hints of KC, even bits of Ween...
SuperSpooky, love it! {#Music}
Love the busy bass.

{#Snooty} no, thanks!

I heard Mari Boine at the San Sebastian Jazz Festival a good few years back.  She was interesting and had a pretty strong energy.  I didn't think she would necessarily translate in the recorded form, but I enjoyed that track.

Wonder why Bill followed it with Pink Floyd's Have a Cigar....{#Think}

Same key :-)

Native American might be more politically correct, but my dictionary says that American Indian or Amerindian is OK too (Personally I have my doubts about that last one though).
Has Bjork been cloned? And that is not necessarily a good thing.
Blechhhhhh
Cool song... I like it...
Super nice groove. I was about to turn off the radio and go to bed, but I totally got sucked in by the sound. I like.
Wow - I never expected to hear this here! FYI, from what I\'ve heard Mari was given this song by an American Indian (is that politically incorrect?). She usually sings semi-traditional same songs otherwise.
Bass line first reminded me of Alan Parsons Project, \"I Robot.\" Very good song, though.
groovey :)
Call me strange...but I really like this.
