This garden that I built for you
That you sit in now and yearn
I will never leave it, dear
I could not bear to return
And find it all untended
With the trees all bended low
This garden is our home, dear
And I got nowhere else to go

So bring it on
Bring it on
Every little tear
Bring it on
Every useless fear
Bring it on
All your shattered dreams
And I'll scatter them into the sea
Into the sea

The geraniums on your window sill
The carnations, dear, and the daffodil
Well, they're ordinary flowers
But they long for the light of your touch
And of your trembling will
Ah, you're trembling still
And I am trembling too
To be perfectly honest I don't know
Quite what else to do

So bring it on
Bring it on
Every neglected dream
Bring it on
Every little scheme
Bring it on
Every little fear
And I'll make them disappear

So bring it on, bring it on
Bring it on
Every little thing
Bring it on
Every tiny fear
Bring it on
Every shattered dream
And I'll scatter them into the sea

I'm lucky enough to have seen most of my favourite artists live, except for ones that are impossible (I'm 24 and a fan of classic rock, so a lot of bands I would have to time travel to see), but Nick Cave is one of the last on my bucket list. He's such an incredible artist, and I hope to see him in concert some time.

I'm with you, for sure! I love his work, love his half-Bowie, half-Edgar Winter "Freak Storm" character in the movie Johnny Suede (and love that he almost kills Brad Pitt's hilariously earnest (title) character by getting him to eat some dumpster-dive chicken!), and I have been truly blessed to have seen most of my musician-heroes, in places all over the whole freakin' world, even enjoyed spectacular times in Nick's heavenly hometown, but I've YET TO SEE NICK LIVE!
< > Here's a toast to hoping it happens somehow!

 Yessir, I'm likin' this.
God, I love this song.

MORE Nick & his seeds, RP.
+2 to 8 today, something clicking for me today, and I love Nick's voice.

Great album overall - worth digging into.
This song is like a fist punching. Powerful and simple... If that makes sense haha :)

Best concert I have ever seen in my life. And I have been to many. Nothing beats Nick Cave live. Mesmerising.

The great thing about living where I do is I get an  opportunity to see everybody.

Never heard this before (and I'm a fan)--it's a great one.
I went to a festival for my 30'est birthday because The bad seeds where the main band.
There was a few true Fans and Nick could see that, i guess he looked at each of one of us in the eyes once... Man this show felt so good.

Yes bring it on Bill!!! And some Gun club while we are at it!
Awesome, I would love to see Nick in small venue, singing along with guinness in hand.  Great.

Not just a voice, Nick is full package (performance, energy, everything is on high level).

I keep thinking of the Nutty Professor's Gramma telling her kid to "Bring it awn...! I'll throw hot grease on you!" :-k

I'm so sad that Blixa has left the band. Not sure if the Seeds will ever be the same. But Nick Cave is Nick Cave, a unique artist with a unique poetry. I will always enjoy...
Perfect song for a Monday... thanks!

Agreed on the killer chorus. I like this. Not enough to run out and buy it, but I like it.

Probably "Wings of Desire."

There is a cover of that song by J. Cash in the library...

Could have been Ghosts Of The Civil Dead. Pretty strange movie as far as I can recall. As for this song, it fits fairly nicely into the RP playlists as one of Nick's more accessible (dare I say more 'easy-listening') tracks. I'd really like RP to get some of his more challenging songs online. Maybe I'll have a go at uploading a few - Stagger Lee, Stranger Than Kindness, Red Right Hand and The Mercy Seat spring to mind
This is GREAT...I'm a huge Nick Cave fan., along with other bands with which some of the Bad Seeds have been associated with (Einstuerzende Neubauten, Crime & the City Solution etc...). NC produces some of the most intense music...gives me goose bumps...To me, this is what music is all about...goose bumps.
this could REALLY use some more lyrics. maybe he came up with the title and figured that was enough?
i like it, it\'s different
great song... how can it have a rating below 6? you guys never fail to suprise/dissapoint me.
Allmusic.com: \"There are also a few surprises of an unpleasant nature on Nocturama: \"Bring It On\" sounds like alternative rock by-the-numbers; without Cave\'s vocals it could be the Wallflowers. This could be the first Bad Seeds track to sport a depressingly standard guitar solo over the fade. Longtime Cave fans may need to reach for the smelling salts after hearing it.\" Yup, that about sums it up.
Huh... guess I was mistaken. I purchased one of Nick Cave's albums a few years ago and hated it -- almost as much as I disliked Smash Mouth's "Fush Yu Mang" album. I like this song, but am wary of buying another Nick Cave album.

No, AMG says it's his. What a scathing review of the album! Only one worse I've seen on AMG was a Prayer Boat album. At least the Nick Cave reviewer likes Nick Cave--he's just disappointed with the new record.
I\'m sure that this is a remake... anyone know who does the original?
Funny story about Letterman I have my own small story which shows people's extreme reactions to this guy: Was watching a flick with some new acquaintances in which Cave appeared (can't recall the title). I said "that's Nick Cave!" One of the assembled turned at me with a horrified look and said "You actually know who this guy is?" I think I said, yup, I'm a fan or something. Well he didn't talk to me again that night, or ever. Oh yeah and if you are interested in more from Cave I would suggest his "Murder Ballads" record.
What were you thinking when you put this in the rotation?
The more I hear this cut and the others on his CD the more I am drawn in to the textures and complexity of the music. Keep tunes like this coming.
there are two kinds of music, good and bad, and I decide.
i like this song thanks for playing it, didn\'t know nick cave could sound like this, i guess i need to listen to more of his work, always a pleasure tuning in here.....
I\'ve never met anyone who was on the fence about Nick Cave. It\'s all or nothing. Frexample David Letterman. I remember when Nick was on and at the end of the song when David usually walks over and says \"great job\" to the musician, the camera cut to Dave at his desk, laughing and wiping the tears away. Anyway, this song is pretty accessible, for Nick. I\'m glad it\'s here.
You think he wants us to bring it on?
Kind of lackluster for me. Music is ok, vocals ok = just ok.
I am honored to be the first to extol the dark brilliance of Nick Cave and this cut!!!! More!!!! More!!!!
