Minutes turn to days
Years just melt away
In the park at dawn
Just a flower on
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
We discovered love
In the basements of
Some of my best friends
I've never seen again
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
Oh so young and oh so tender
Almost hurts too much to rememder
As if the weight of your head on my shoulder
By itself would make us older
If I could time it right
I'd be with you tonight
Out among the stars
Is that where you are ?
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
I keep callin' to you
My baby blue, my baby blue
Years just melt away
In the park at dawn
Just a flower on

is it possble there was a welcome 10 year break between plays?..... 10 more please
He must have lots of friends and family in the industry. I just don't like anything I've heard from this guy.

I'm gonna try to make you dislike this song as much as I do. :D Listen to how he sings "My baby blue, my baby blue." Each time he sings that line, the second occurance of the word "blue" is followed by his voice decaying into what sounds like a long deep moaning belch from an untuned theramin. Every damn time.
OMG- It does ruin it!
I wish this song was done by someone else. It might be good then. ... might.

this sh*t sucks. why does RP play so much freeking john hiatt. a lot of great music to choose from, this is not necessary.
Well...

Maybe it's your musical tastes that are just boring...
Maybe you should expand your senses. Maybe try some:
I've heard it here many times, and I still like it!
John Hiatt rocks! I'd love to see him live.

This song is so great... I love it
One of my favorite Hiatt tunes. Better than the rest of the album. How often it is played (this year) should have no bearing on the rating.
Wish to hell this SONG was a "goner."

didn't aerosmith do a song similar to this?
Yeahhhh.... no, it couldn't have been Aerosmith, but definitely something with a similar flavor, more sentimental.
One thing's for sure, it didn't rock like this, and I've only heard slide guitar this transcendent one other place: on a David Lindley recording.
Go! Go! Go!
I swear that guitar is talking to me.
Huge Hiatt fan but this one doesn't do it for me. Too superficial? Not sure.
Yaaaaaaaa Hiatt RULES!!!
headache music
this song is played entirely too much, I dig it but hear it too much to enjoy anymore.

I second that.
Certainly not the most challenging tune in the Hiatt book, but worth a spot in the rotation nonetheless.

tryin' to pass for authentic, still doesn't make it
John Hiatt has paid his dues. See him live. 'nuff said.
I absolutely love John Hiatt's music! My Baby Blue is no exception...very "snappy" tune...you can even dance to it!
This song should be goner. Overplayed and over-rated.
tryin\' to pass for authentic, still doesn\'t make it

Haven't heard anything from this CD. Appreciate the chance to listen to anything new from Hiatt. As others have posted elsewhere regarding Hiatt: He's great live.

I've seen him a half-dozen times at least, and he's always best when he's solo and can crack jokes and extemporize more.
He doesn't move me as much as he used to, but I still buy every album to make sure he's still on record companies' radar. He's given me enough happiness in the past that I'm paying him back now by trying his new stuff regardless.
