I am so surprised by the reaction to Michael Franti & Spearhead here at RP. It isn't violent, gangsta rap, it doesn't denegrate women, it has a good beat and you can dance to it. I honestly wouldn't even call this hip hop. Oh well, I for one, will be purchasing this album soon. Hopefully, it won't leave the rotation at RP.
Not bad. RP obviously does not play a lot of this genre of music so I guess I was expecting something a little more remarkable to represent this underplayed music. I can't make any useful suggestions but I know I've heard better hip hop. I'm sure there're bigger fans out there who could though!

I could not have said it better. This group needs to go and volunteer at the food bank or something if they have this much free time.
The rhythm sounds very similar to the Clash's Magnificent Seven (possibly a sample?). Still, pretty cool stuff.
No thanks, if I wanted hip-hop I'd tune in to any pop station on the radio dial. Yuck.
