True to Myself
Life has come a long way since yester day (I say)
And it's not the same old thing over again (I say)
Just do what you feel and don't you fool yourself (I say)
Cause I can't make you happy unless I am (I say, I say)
Chorus
I've got to be true to myself (x4)
Day in day out, I've asked many questions (I say)
Only to find the truth it never changes (I say)
If you don't deal with it, it keeps killing you a little by little (I say)
Call me selfish if you will, my life I alone I can live (I say, I say)
Chorus
I've got to be true to myself (x4)
I don't care if it hurts
I'm tired of lies and all these games
I've reached a point in life
Hey, no longer can I be this way
Don't come crying to me
I too have shed my share of tears
I'm moving on, yes I'm grooving on
Hey, well I'm finally free
Chorus
I've got to be true to myself (x8)

This is a really flat song, maybe it sounds good live but ditch the radio play.

Ooh, I'm not so sure. I reckon it's been lobbed a long, long way away. His Dad, love him or loathe him, had a distinctive sound. Ziggy, from what I've heard on RP, is just plain dull.
Hey, the apple isn't far away from the treetrunk!

Better than his dad...
I had to be true to myself as well, 3 points.
It sounds like depeche mode, but not as good..

Agreed. Wow, what an asshole. An ode to selfish prickishness, with a reggae beat.
Wow, no love here.

Don't give a damn about lyrics 90% of the time (usually can't hear 'em anyway—too many years of rock music and industrial noise). But the song has bop; if this can't get you out of your cubicle-dancing chair than perhaps you're ready for a hoveround.

Narcissistic. Where is the love? Right in the mirror.

This is good
while this isnt THAT great .. I dont think it deserves its current 5ish rating!
I can get ziggy with it.
Ziggy is cool.
Nah...I'll take anything else he has to offer. This just isn't worthy. Ho hum at best.
("mad Bush disease"...good one!)
weak......
Better than his dad...mainly because it's barely Reggae...
But it's still fairly droning...
Except this beat has me tappin' my toes...
Oh, grrrrrrr...I have to upgrade to a 6...
Corporasta
Sounds like he just got back from his therapist and now he's gonna enlighten the rest of us.
Probably would be best in a beach bar in the Keys if I'm too wasted to notice the lyrics.
I LOVE this one! Just an overall great groove and message...for being stuck inside on a summer day.

ah, the great Bob's son walking in his fathers footsteps... very similar sound too - not terribly surprising really... still has a great sound though...
although i haven't heard it, there's a recent ziggy cd where he ventures into non-reggae territory.
i heard about it on npr (which i don't really listen to any more because it's been infected with mad bush disease).
anyway, it seemed like ziggy was catching a lot of crapola from the fans&family for venturing from his father's shadow.
this good guy will be a late bloomer.
let's all root for his continued success!
man some of you guys are harsh...
Bob Marley was great for his time... Some of his tracks are notable...
I wish most of these musicians had a real issue - a struggle to wail about... The music isn't full of soul and pain anymore....
Saw Ziggy perform this on a weekend morning show a couple of months back... sounds and now LOOKS exactly like his Dad... not a bad thing, IMHO
Whats wrong with everyone?
I love this song!
I say... listen to Finley Quaye... ;)

Oh, it's just the son...
This guy is so annoying. I've seen whites performing better...

That's funny. Maybe it was the ghost of Bob. :D
Kind of sounds like a reggae version of Too Much Time on My Hands by Styx. I hate Styx, but they did provide a great Behind the Music episode.

NICE SONG, JUST OVERPLAYED ON MAINSTREAM HERE.
