Never saw a single episode... but it's a solid 8 for me!!!
Damn, never saw a single episode. That's like not ever having sex, you just don't know what you've missed out on!!!
Shame that the fab James Gandolfini went so early!
Best episode: Pauli and Christopher in the dead of winter with the undeadable russian! Great episode. But I loved the episode where they took Pussy out on their boat to execute him, so much drama and emotion.
Alabama 3, you are awesome!!

Drove from Atlanta to Boston a few years ago, and specifically selected a route that followed Tony Soprano's ride across the Pulaski Skyway. Talk about goosebumps!
(Geek note: That bridge opened in 1932.)
yeah, I was behind you ya wussy! had my battered van right up your butt tryin' to move you over into your lane on the right, but "Nooo, not me.. ", you stayed right in the center goin' less than 30 freakin' mph and drawin' up the ire of every REAL Driver "COME ON YOU SLACKIN' PIECE OF BOSTON TURD MOVE OVER!!!" I screamed, smashing my ultra large 7-Eleven slurpy cup against the inside of my cracked windshield, "what the fuck ya doin on the road you should be in the back of a mini-school bus wit the other challenged kids!!!" oh thank god he slid over at last, jeezus fukkin' crispies get me over that Verrazano and back to the BQE wit the real sick-o's, my crowd!!!
(jus' kiddin)
But yeah, the series never caught on with me. And I seem to cope with graphic, over-the-top violence well, e.g., Banshee.

....... totally agree, a truly superb album and is highly recommended and the there was breaking bad
Both great shows. But the original and still the greatest..."The Wire"
There will never be another like it - it absolutely changed TV forever.
and the there was breaking bad
Listen...hear, ya oldfart! ;)
You are missed..............
And very much so.
There will never be another like it - it absolutely changed TV forever.
Drove through NYC during a relocation to America's tundra, and planned the drive over the Pulaski Skyway just so I could "see" the Sopranos intro in person.
Mr. Gandolfini was younger than me. Kinda scary to realize heart attacks happen to young guys. Best wishes to his family and friends.
You are missed..............
Isn't this a line from Martin Mull's 1970's "Baby Bottle Blues" where he plays slide guitar with a baby bottle?
Actually, I just found it on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVfYos—B_c
Nice!!

I love it!
That would have been my guess as well, but after a minute I knew it wasn't and ended up buying the song, I think they call it an infectious groove.
Leonard Cohen - Woke up this morning
Yes it's an Alabama 3 song.
"Mediocre artists borrow. Great artists steal and make better" - Quentin Tarantino OnMyLovelornHighway
"This is most definitely Alabama 3. As I've being playing guitar for the band since 1998, I'm fairly sure I'm correct on this. To the best of my knowledge Mr Cohen has not covered this song, but that would certainly be a delight to hear. :)"
James Gandolfini was in True Romance, along with Walken. A lot of the cast came from Goodfellas, though. Then there is Steven Van Zandt, from the E Street Band.
I love it!
This is the soundtrack version.
Original,better IMO.
I have a live version, that is even better than any of the two.
Well. . . I must have heard Alabama 3 play this live over a dozen times if not more (I think I have seen the A3 play more than any other band). However, I just love this version.
Almost every time it was different. Larry loves to mix things up and reinvent their tunes. The last UK tour was a stripped down acoustic set and it worked really well. Great, great band live.
The version used for the series was edited and is shorter than this original.

I'm from Jersey!
What exit?
kilmer
I seem to remember it sounding a little bit different.
This sounds like a remix of the version that played during the show intro. Same band I think, but much more bass here. This is pretty good, but I like the original better. Great show though, it helped redefine television.

The treacherous subconscious, maybe?
Definitely! Which came first? No time right now to do the research... but I loved this video of Christopher Walken as I've never seen him before! That dude can MOVE!

"see a doctor" should be your song.
Or maybe "Love hurts"?

bump

one coool live CD for X-mas ! (no joke)
It WAS a great show. And the ending was absolutely perfect. It could not possibly have been better.
agree

One of the best live bands you will see.
If it would have had a good ending they wouldn't be able to make a movie one day.
I agree - more A3!!!!! Please!
