Klaatu barada nikto. How do you say 2 in Venusian?
Could be quite good with out the annoying auto tune that absolutely ruins it for me.

Where can we get this version then? Bill? Uploader? Anyone?
When you guys want to know about a song, read ALL of the previous posts. I am the uploader of this, and I posted in reply to someone else, letting them know that this version was on the PROMO ONLY release of the second album, but if I'm not mistaken, it is this same version that is on the first album.
Wow, this is really good. . . big 8 on first hearing.
Wordplay aside, very nice segue from Cities in Dust
Aye-yie-eye...Make it stop!
I think it's catchy and Kraftwerk(ish) :)
its 5am here, this works for me.
I kinda like it. Reminds me of Air a little bit.
Sometimes I wish this song would end.
Okay, it's all the time.

This is not the version on the album - sadly as I bought it for this. Instead the album gives a sort of euro-pop dance version :(

Good to know... especially since this album seems pretty pricey...
sounds like Jane Weidlin, does it not? Therefore, I like it.
It's growing on me. Didn't think it would, but it is. Like ivy. (No, not like Ivy -- they've gotta get OUT of the city...)
Now what would be a great segue here would be to go into "Modern Times" by Al Stewart. Trust me! It grows on all the walls like ivy... :

I don't ever want to hear this again.
It looks like the song is called Sometimes (We Live In Cities) or RP link...
Another worthy of turning up! Nice. :nodhead:
P.S. We live in Cities.
Rainfalls on our windows.
Sometimes...

It's bugging me.
We live in cities

Or maybe that's just my neighborhood. :-s
Only a 5.4? It's beautiful!

blank = Rainfall?
BTW, I purchased this through amazon.co.uk "used & new" section at a significantly lower price than the one offered here in the states. (~$12 vs. $41 - sorry RP  )
Hypnotic. I Love it!
Now spell cities. c i t y s. Incorrect. Now spell cities.
Well, this possibly beats that Goldfrapp "Strict machine" tune as the track that impales itself on my cerebral cortex and will not leave. And now I know the lyrics, too, so they'll be running in a loop in my head until some time next month. Ahhhhhh!
after hearing this song again, i had to raise my rating. :-({|=
apparently i am in the minority based on the average rating.
had thoughts of buying the cd - then saw the price - ouch... #-o
I'm normaly indifferent to this genre.
I like this though, makes me want to travel far away from the dreary view out of my office window.
I like it. it's quirky and fun and catchy.
am keen to hear what the rest of the Album is like
the emoticons even have the beat
not even sometimes

Really, are these the words?
Reminds me of Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Eeeeesh. Undecided. This makes me grind my teeth. Can't be good. :-s
Laurie Anderson lives!
I like this song. And looking at the Infinity plugin of my XMMS at the same time makes it kinda spacy. :propeller.gif:

Digital lisp--Hey! Great name for a band!
I wish that "Steal My Sunshine" song used cool voice processing like this song :) Somehow this song reminds me of the early 80s and how I would have imagined music was going to sound in the future.
I'm disappointed in myself for liking this, but I really do.

can a song with a 4.9 rating be taken off the playlist? how does that work with low-rated songs? Do they stay on or can they be removed? :?:
I want to hate it, but it's too damn catchy...
hmmmmmm
I think I like this

A bit of Papa was a rolling stone... cool tune and vocoder!

Get off your high horse, sister!!
Honeychild, I ain't no woman! And I think all of us who upload should say when we uploaded sumthin. I think it's interesting to know how long it has been available on RP. I wish Bill would add that to the song info page. When uploaded, by whom, and when first played, and how many time played so far.
Plus, it lets those who like the song know who to contact if they have questions about it.

not bad.. reminds me of a group named "Add N to (x)" had only heard of them via Sputnik7.com .... while they sound similar, very differnt, as add N to x is x rated at the very least.

If my memory is correct, this song was on their first album, the one you mentioned. But they included it again on the promo only release of the second album, but then they re-recorded it, (or maybe just remixed it) for the official release, and it sounds very different. But THIS is the version used on the first album as well, if I'm not mistaken.

Who is this catering too? Robots? I like the beat, but the robot singer just needs to be unplugged.
It's catering to people like me, who love robot singers, and the feel of walking down the sidewalk of a city park on a sunny day....

Don't know which is more annoying: autotune used to fix off-pitch singing or as an effect. Both, as think about it.
