I've never been too good with names.
The cellar door was open, I could never stay away.
I know it's prob'ly not my place.
It's either or, I'm hoping for a simple way to say.
It's a shame about Ray.
In the stone, under the dust,
his name is still engraved.
Some things need to go away.
It's a shame about Ray.
If I make it through today,
I'll know tomorrow not to leave my feelings out on display.
I'll put the cobwebs back in place.
I've never been too good with names,
but I remember faces.

GREAT TUNE!! Thanx RP!
Decent album overall, Drug Buddy the standout for me đź‘Ť
One of my biggest regrets is never seeing this band. And I live in the Boston area!!
Arrrgh!
Solid 9 from me.
Was just jamming this today on my way over the hill to Louisville at lunch-time. KILLER song, great to sing along to with the volume up and the windows down! And local legal refreshments, too, of course!
I misheard it as “it’s a shame about race” and my mind immediately jumped to the current racial tension worldwide . Join together folks that care..yep I’m that desperate to appeal to your good nature ~ because that’s what you’d go too!
Come on~ push the message that’ll save our planet, it’s people. And prove forever that we can get our sh*t together.
Loose the attitude of ME Me ME
And start join support~ ~ that
That that that that ~~~
A good read about Dando: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/0...

I think the Fighters of Foo glommed some of this great sound.

Even at her most beautiful/drug-free/stable Courtney Love was someone normal people should have just run away from. So needy, annoying and destructive. Maybe Dando matched her at the time for being a walking mess.

Is that Ray on the cover? About to get run down by a maroon Checker cab? It's a shame.

Spot on Dave, what a great time. I was living in Boston at the time last years of uni, Enough said.
There are some songs that just play on the radio, and others that define that entire moment you're alive. '92/'93, Lemonheads. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.

Except this album was released in June of '92, and we pretty much heard Confetti, the title track, and the S&G cover everywhere the last half of that year. "Come On, Feel The Lemonheads" (a worthy follow-up) came out in '93.
Few songs take me back to 1993 like this one does.

Saw these guys so many years ago with Buffalo Tom at great woods... Fun show.
Pretty good pop song but like many others, a 1-hit wonder.
This song hits me right in my (g)enerational spot.

It's a shame about Evan Dando really.
At the time too mainstream to be called alternative, too alternative to go mainstream.

Their early albums still get a lot of play on my iPod!
I used to have this album. Whatever happened to these guys?

There is in this album a version of Mrs. Robinson - S&G song - very cool. The last song, if i´m not wrong.
I can almost smell the high school hallways. There should be a 'nostalgia' emoticon.

He's got a new one out with the Lemonheads again, I've heard they've picked up where they left off!
It's the Lemonheads.

I always got a "Feelies" kinda feeling from this band. Same sorta guitar chord building sound. Barenaked Ladies? I don't think so.

I had forgotten these guys. This was a great album. This song is fun and others like "Ship without a rudder" or whatever.
Pretty cool.

I used to hate Evan and the Lemonheads for this. Way too much publicity for one hit song. I always thought that they were way overrated. Now, when they really are a one-hit wonder and all the publicity and hype have died away, I can find myself enjoying this song. Good riddance to Evan, wherever he is.
He had two other good albums... "Come on Feel the Lemonheads" and "Car Button Cloth" were both pretty good cd's. THIS SONG IS GREAT!

Not a bad song...got a hook, nice melody...but no one ever got more mileage out of one album than Evan Dando. I've been reading stories in the Boston press for 20 years about this guy, most of them of the "Evan Dando, formerly of the Lemonheads, is poised to make yet another comeback" variety.
Why do I care? I don't. But there's that song again, the only one that anyone ever plays.
I'm done now.

He should have stuck w/ Ben Deily...

Good song and suberb album. Would like to hear more of this album on RP especially My Drug Buddy and Rudderless
This brings back some wonderful memories. :goodvibes.gif: This is a great cd, from beginning to end IMO.

My college-aged self agrees with this sentiment when I thusly this young!
