horrible
Still one of the best gigs I ever went to - seeing these guys on a hot summer evening as the sun went down at Latitude Festival in the noughties. It was mesmerising.
Apropos of nothing ... have finally made it from the Left Coast of North of 49 to Maui.  RP is clearly curating my experience.  The rest of you all are welcome along though.  (Just trying to perpetuate the polite Canadian thing - don't ever watch a hockey game or the myth will implode.)
OK TUNE! But, not for me. I can see how some people might like it. Thanx RP!

Yes.  Not very exciting.  Like this song,

Little help, please.  Google Translate says "stahlwerk" translates into English as "Stahlwerk".

What does it really mean?  (Perhaps "an exciting evening with a former TV network news reporter", but that's probably wrong.)

Rated down from 8 to 5... a little too overblown in my current mood, like a blooming Lars von Trier film.  The emotional high builds quickly, then keeps going on and on and on and on until it just becomes annoying...

Either you don't - or you're on joyful orchestrated XTC

First song I rated down from 10 to 1.
Just thought I'd balance up all this perplexing negativity.
Unequivocal 10.
Sodding marvellous.
Brilliant!
Love this.
complete utter garbage

The orchestration on this song is just pure joy.

At least this guys unlike many other don't try to speak in English only for commercial reasons, even they invent a "language" to express themselves the way they like. That is a good effort and an example for many artists.

bla-bla-bla = stop spreading bull
Hoppipolla = extremely ridiculous!!

I always love me some Sigur Ros.

Exactly what I've been saying all along. They are a bunch of pretentious no talent asshats.
Can't believe all the negative comments for this song/group. It's not worn off for me. It's ethereal.

Solid 9.
OMFG this song makes me want to pull my eyes out.

First heard these dudes here on RP and KCRW. A couple of years later, and I find I've heard enough. Don't know what it is specifically, but I've just heard enough. Maybe it's the "boyish" sound. Or the jibberish mix of Icelandic and Garbagic. But the coolness has worn off for me.

They call it Hopelandic...  which is apparently Icelandic for "can't write actual good lyrics."  Coolness has long since worn off.

Tusin takk.
Takk for Sigur Rós.
Thanks RP. {#Music}
I wished it has never been played at all.

Yes, because we're SICKOS!
Looks like RPers either love or hate Sigur Ros. I'm not sure what to make of them yet: would we care at all about this band if the songs were in English?

... it was way too soon.

Man, it sounds like you've got some anger issues.  Look out!  I'm requesting this song right now! {#Nyah}

We know: there are a million true SICKOS out there. The majority of them must be Sigur Ros fans. A really gave them a chance. I listened to each song of 4 albums. I did not find a SINGLE (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) song that did not pain the hell out of me.
Ridiculous this terrible supersweet violin-coating over each and any song. No rythm, hardly any melody and this sickening "language".
The whole SR-thing is a hoax. It can't be nothing else. How old might their fans (fans?? really??) be? Twelve? Just eight? Liking lullabies? Or are they even adults? Grannies maybe? I just can't figure it out.
I read about them, downloaded their albums and was terrified. I deleted all! Then I read again, wondered if I had been ignorant and loaded the same albums again and gave them a real chance another time. Same thing: I could hardly stand a single song. This pussy-attitude. This whining. This childish melancholy. Please point out a single, just ONE (!) single song of quality and I take anything said back and download that song a third time for good!

Really angry,
Hoppipolla - tttzzzzzzzz....!!!!!
