I'm on the rocky road
Heading down off the mountain slope
And as my steps echo echo,
louder than before
Another day is done,
say goodbye to the setting sun
See what I found,
Turn back to the ground
Just like before
And Hey hey hey hey hey hey
Hey beautiful day, hey beautiful day
Hey hey hey hey
Hey beautiful day, hey beautiful day
When the night feels my song
I'll be home, I'll be home
Into the undergrowth,
Twist and turn on a lonely road
In the twilight
the day turns to night
And I'm alone
And when the light has let
I'm not sure of my every step
Follow the wind that pushes me west
Back to my bed
And Hey hey hey hey hey hey
Hey beautiful day, hey beautiful day
Hey hey hey hey
Hey beautiful day, hey beautiful day
When the night feels my song
I'll be home, I'll be home
When the night feels my song
I'll be home, I'll be home
When the night feels my song

Ouch - this tough to hear following PG's Road to Joy...
RIP Zellers
INTERESTING! GOOD TUNE! Nice mix of genres. I don't care what anybody else says! It is the first time I've heard it. Thanx RP!

I remember seeing these guys when they weren't big at all. In fact they used to play at the uni bar (Guelph university, Canada) quite a bit. It's great to see them getting getting recognized all the way over in California.

Actually I think Ginger Baker invented African rhythm and and tempo to percussion.

I don't get why this is, and it's starting to get annoying -- Apparently Paul Simon is still the only person some people have heard play certain types of music. They even think that other types of unfamiliar music are ripping him off, even if they have little in common.

Total coincidence that I just posted this colab on the Coeur de Pirate track that was played a few minutes ago?

this was enjoyable..
This was first discovered in a Zeller's commercial - the Canadian equivalent of Target.
Must be the winner of a Paul Simon Soundalike contest.
"say goodnight to the setting sun..."
Perfect timing.
What is a soundclash in the West Bank?

That's a distinctly Canadian problem. The rest of us majority who haven't gotten beat over the head with this song are happy to hear it again.

i dig this song: very positive
Oh, the day IS beautiful - it's like 38 degrees and sunny!
I will never get tired of hearing this song. It's an RP gem.
I like it! Has that old time Reggae-Ska feel; back when Ska was good.

The first couple times I heard it, I thought it was fun.
But after a thousand times hearing it in various media, I want it to go away forever.
Sure, it's a cute song, but there isn't enough substance to make it last.
This song needs to be buried in a deep hole in the ground.
I'll be nice, and give it a 4.

This is fairly catchy (a good thing in my book), but its staying power just isn't there. The more I hear it, the less I like it.

Not "overplayed" in Vinyl Land ! Still, just bumped it from #6 to #7 .
Now that this is no longer overplayed on Canadian radio — or that I now listen mostly to RP — I think I can finally appreciate this tune.

Same, same... it is strange how the memories could be collective with the rigth tune.

Ya know, the more I hear this, the less I like it. Meh.
Sounds like white-bread Paul (Simon) sings "Preppie Reggae" while wearing his Ralph Laurens.
Has a nice beat tho'.

They also need to pick one freaking key and stick with it. But of course, we're treated to as much off-key singing as four minutes will hold.
Only if you're still stuck on "Mother and Child Reunion". He's done a FEW things since then.

Yes, someone in the a capella is incredibly flat, which destroys the harmony. (Insert pertinent "soundclash" joke here.)
And yes, it's in incredibly heavy rotation. It also sounds just like "Pressure Drop," yet another song in very heavy rotation, which is why it sounds like you hear it every few hours.
Dude... he spins the music for free. Change the channel if you're not satisfied.
Ouch. That's a rough transition from Led Zep to this. And I like this song.
yet another reason to love RP - thank you for introducing me to this song.

it sounds like the song Johnny Too Bad - The Slickers. it is from The Harder They Come. It's also covered by Taj Mahal and Steve Earle.
Steve's version has been played on RP but not in over a year.

Never had heard of this song before RP.
Now I carry it in my car and each time my daughter an I sit in the car we loudly sing it together (good to know: my daughter is 6 y/old and her english is -of course- pretty poor, but she loves to sing the sound of the words).

Instant classic. Everytime I hear this song I come here to rate it and found it is already a 9, but after doing it so many times, I still and one more to go. It finally makes the cut 9 -> 10.
