Well you've heard about love
Givin' sight to the blind
My baby's lovin' cause the sun to shine
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby....Heart and soul
Love like ours won't never grow old
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my lady
She's long and lean
You mess with her
You'll see a man get mean
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy

Well I love my baby
Like the finest wine
Stick with her until the end of time
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby
Heart and soul
Love like ours won't never grow old
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy

On a cold patio in Texas way back in 2001. My friend Mikey (guitar) and his wife Terri (bass). After a few drinks.

Pirate Pete and the Scurvy Dogs - Pride and Joy
This guy was outstanding, I heard two times live, great.

I lived in the DC area for many years - saw some incredible guitarists - SRV and his brother, Buchanan, Jeff Beck, Danny Gatton, Robert Cray, Chris Spedding, Link Ray, Robert Fripp, Todd Rundgren (my personal favorite guitarist), Dave Alvin, Richard Thompson, David Hidalgo & Cesar Rosas, Johnny Ramone  - all playing essentially the same instrument yet they all had very unique and individual styles.

Yes but SRV did NOT have his own distinct style. He was directly biting on Jimi and a host of others.
The BPM on this is all over the place! Intro is one speed. First verse is a little faster. Chorus speeds up again just before “she my pride n joy” But what a great tune!

Thanks for that.  Anyone know the BPM of this thing, cos I can't click it for toffee...
I remember jamming this when I was part of the Trail Crew making what became North Peak, the rad ski terrain behind Keystone, summer of '84; me, Cindy, the 2 Simons, Barbara, Steve, Andy, Lynne, and Stuart; working, partying at our new Summit County Standard Orbit, seeing Mother Nature naked on a daily basis, and having the time of our lives. Stevie rocks!
GREAT!!! ICONIC!!!

Yeah, I remember when I had a chance to go see SRV with a friend, but we didn’t know the part of town that he was playing in, so we figured we’d catch him the next time around. Yeah, that was April 1990. Never, ever again will I say “Next time."

Lubbock, Texas had a BYOB club called the Cotton Club. SRV used to come through regularly with The Cobras and then Triple Threat*. Underage could get in since liquor wasn't sold there. Good times.

* Triple Threat was SRV, WC Clark and Angela Strehli. Awesome! And as you know, after Triple Threat came Double Trouble.

in my mind i travel back to the Danville, IL Civic Center, 1988, every time i hear an SRV song.  what a great show!  still in my top 5 concerts of all time.  long live SRV and RP.

Goosebumps!
Where's that 11 button when ya need it?

Second SRV song I've heard for the first time on RP today that I never got to rate.  20 points total.
MORE STEVIE RAY, please!

Lucky dog indeed!  My wife (who is a tad older than I am) has a lot of similar stories of seeing bands in their early years, most famously was AC/DC who opened for Ted Nugent and were nearly booed off the stage....too soon I guess for the crowd to appreciate.  Anyways, I'm this close to making this track a 10 since it's about my wife....ok...it's a 10 now...Long Live RP!!

A hard song not to like even though it was airplayed to death in Cleveland back when.

Some songs get better with time...behold!
Saw him back in the day a couple of times.  What really blew me away was that he could sound/play like pretty much any band/musician out there.  The versatility live was stunning — sometimes it didn't come through in the recordings.

Yeah a bit of hype I'd agree, but then SRV has done some pretty great stuff. Might have been his drinking issue sometimes but later on he got free of it. OTOH, anyone can have an off night while someone else is having a pretty good one.

edit:  I've tried everything until I hit 128bpm but I can't keep time with it.

Yeah, Stevie Ray and Jimi are so similar it's amazing, although Mr. Vaughn has that unmistakable southwestern Tabasco in his playing style.  Mr. Hendrix had something from Mars, and I've not heard that since.

It is understood the exercise of the right of copyright, which must be exercised and respected. In the first line and most important - in Counterfeiting - piracy.
But I also understand that should not be used this mechanism blindly and abrupt and aggressive (as I said, characteristic of monopolistic market), without weight, measure and account, especially in the excerpts shown on YouTube or similar sites, excerpts from which are only demos (demos), most low or medium quality, short duration, which can in no way prejudice the editors of the Complete Works of high quality (DVD). Who is buying that high-grade material, is not satisfied with the small sample of YouTube. No way.
Instead, these short excerpts of Live performances of artists, only help the spread of the artist, but also help those commercially Companies.
The indiscriminate and persecution, citing the Copyright, from published material on YouTube already has another nature, and can only be interpreted as envy, blatant and arrogant jealousy, non-compliance with the artists, non-compliance with the users of the site (which punctuate, mark favorite and make comments) and non-compliance with the entire Music Community, whose videos are then are devastated (removed) through aggressive and arrogant. No.
It is a misconduct that only harms the image of these companies trade labels, which can be interpreted as arrogance, avarice, desperation and commercial greed.

Great venue. I saw a half-dozen shows there (lived in ABQ '96-'04), but nothing quite like Stevie must have been; wonderful intimate setting for a show like that.

Back in the early 90's, a guy I used to work with said he saw Stevie Ray at Antone's here in Austin. My buddy was hanging out after Stevie finished drinking a beer right about closing time. There were about 10 people still milling around. Stevie came out and sat on the edge of the stage, the 10 people pulled up chairs, and he played for half an hour or so. Would have been nice to have one of those seats.

Thank God I saw him live. Now I give him a cigarette or flowers or a salute whenever I pass him on Lady Bird Lake.
SRV and Double Trouble was our "House Band" when I was in College. I cried when he left this world. Still brings a sorrow to my heart when I hear him, but this song is his 'Stairway to Heaven' or 'Satisfaction' or 'Hey Jude'.
