Forty times you may question your life
Fortified with a hunting knife
Before you find out if you survive
Questioning marks have turned into scars
For the record you remember the few, yeah,
Who for a second time you bid adieu
Forty days in the neon haze
Festering dreams are dressed in vagaries
You follow the skyway
You follow your right-of-way
You follow the streets and the cars
And the shadows and the stars.
Forty lessons you may hear from the sun, now
You never listened to a single one
Falling leaves whisper like thieves
Not that you mind you live on stolen time
You follow the skyway
You follow your right-of-way
You follow the streets and the cars
And the shadows and the stars.
Fists loaded with a furious disdain
Your ferocity will be your shame
Fast motion like a curious flame
The best I can do is to turn my back on you
You follow the skyway
You follow your right-of-way
You follow the streets and the cars
And the shadows and the stars.
You follow the skyway
You follow your right-of-way
You follow the streets and the cars
And the shadows and the stars.

What, really, is the point of this composition? I searched in vain for any redeeming qualities. Of course, music appreciation is highly subjective, but this sounds rather like shite to my ears. Not so good for the ears. It simply does not sound good and wastes the stereo.
How long till these guys get sued by Apple Corps (The Beatles) for their name?
Love hearing Apples in Stereo on RP . . . Very nice!
Darned if I know why, but I get a T. Rex/Mott the Hoople vibe out of this!
(yeah, I'm old and slightly past weird, but there ya have it...)

I prefer his singing to your constant downbeat rap.
Dropped from a 2 to a 1. That lead "singer" is pathetic.

I'm giving this an 8 because it's good pop. And also because lead singer Robert Schneider lives in Lexington and we have seen him perform and have met him several times, and he's just a really nice guy. You know, the kind of guy you want to hug.
You really need to see these guys live to appreciate them. They really are good.
Thanks, Bill, for telepathically knowing I'm plowing through insurance and benefits forms and in SORE need of a lift!

This takes me back to those thrilling days of yesteryear when bands like XTC, Devo, and the B-52's dared to make rock and roll fun again. I just don't understand the low ratings for this one; it's fun and catchy as hell!
Agree! And Bill's fun segue from The Romantics is a nice remider that great power pop emerges from every R&R era.
OK by me

Ultra Pop... but some how I just love it.
This was stuck in my head all weekend!
Denver's own (sort of).
Just plain fun!

I thought they sounded a little like Velvet Underground. Maybe it's the Lou Reed-y singer.
Had me thinking of The Fall...
Apples in Stereo, remind me of "Odds". Which makes me want to hear some Odds. I don't think I have ever heard Odds on RP. May I suggest anything off of the "Good weird feeling" disc by Odds. Their other discs are good too.
What an awesome set !!!!
Way to shake things up Bill! 9

Ignore the haters, this is pretty good and a lot of fun.
go ahead and drop this dog . . .
Super duper.
I'm getting Magazine from this.
...it might have gotten more than a "1" from me if it weren't produced and engineered like total crap...
I'm surprised Yoko hasn't sued them over their name. Cause she's entitled to it.

And the kicking Guitar riff.

if liz phair were to get a sex change operation, this is what she'd sound like.
hmmmm, maybe . when it first came on thought it was Spoon's Book I Write.
Have these folks been listening to the Dandy Warhols?
Refreshing, outstanding
An album cover like that always helps!
duh dub dub dub duh-dub!
Simple to play, catchy melody, and you can sing along....average stuff.
Good song - good album, too!
apples to oranges?
Like it better tonight for some reason.
I prefer my apples in mono.
I CANNOT ESCAPE APPLES IN STEREO! RP, Sirius, WERS here in Boston... and none of these songs are any good!!!
Waaah! They are playing at the Dame here in Lexington RIGHT NOW!
And we didn't go.
They were a Denver band. I know Robert Shneider is based here in Lexington, KY now. There was a good article in the paper about him (and this album) yesterday. Seems that he's become fascinated with higher math and has developed a version of a non-Pythagorean musical scale that he wrote this album with.
I prefer the Peaches in Heavy Syrup.
I much prefer their older stuff...
I see they're a Denver band. Can't say as I've heard of them.
