His head was a city
Of paper buildings
And the echoes that remain
Of old friends and lovers
Their features bleeding
Together in his brain, oh
And once it started it was harder to tell them apart, oh
He was always distracted
By the very mention of an open door, oh
Because he had sworn
Not to be what he'd been before
To be a remain, remain, remain, remainder
To be a remain, remain, remain, remainder
The television
It was snowing softly
As she hunted for her keys
She said she never envisioned
Him the type of person
Capable of such deceit, oh, oh
And then they carried on like
Long division
'Cause it was clear with every page
Oh, that they were further away
From a solution that would play
Without a remain, remain, remain, remainder
Without a remain, remain, remain, remainder
Without a remain, remain, remain, remainder
Without a remain, remain, remain, remainder
He had sworn
Not to be what he'd been before
To be a remain, remain, remain, remainder
To be a remain, remain, remain, remainder
To be a remain, remain, remain, remainder
To be a remain, remain, remain, remainder
To be a remain, remain, remain, remainder

It's one thing to loathe a group, another to wish death on it. I'd advise hitting the mute and lightening up.
Hmmm. . . when I was growing up we had a mouthy Hitler Youth group up-state that I often wished would take a bus off of a cliff. . . s'pose I ought to have been more charitable. . .

TERRIBLE (says a fan)!
I really want to like this band...but everything they do has a milktoast energy about it.

You know, now that you mention it, they are very Judybatsish. Crap. Now I've got to go dig my old Judybats CDs out of storage and rip them to the iPod.
Still love Death Cab, however not a huge fan of this particular track.
I need to upload some Judybats so everyone can hear just how blatantly these guys rip them off.

again with the mixed reaction from me on DCFC... good music (kinda rare IMO) but horrible lyrics... I like that "Academia" song much better if they're gonna use this kind of metaphor...

I don't own the album so the only other song I'm familiar with is... well you know what song it is. I was just thinking that I like this song a lot more. I didn't listen to the lyrics, but the tune was catchy
I like the other tunes on this album, but this one stinks.

Very cool Sonic Youth-y guitar work. Love it!
I thought it was reminiscent of The Wedding Present.

DCFC is what you scrape off your shoe.

I'm surprised at RP's chosen cuts from this album. "I Will Possess Your Heart" is a given, but "No Sunlight" and "Long Division" are weak compared tracks like "Cath", "Grapevine Fires", and "Twin Sized Bed" IMO.
The band played "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and the stand-out song was the Neil Young-ish "Talking Bird," which was great...better than the recorded version, at first listen. Gibbon talked about how much they liked actually recording together.
Maybe this band is growing up.

Wow! You serious?
i am sure that they are serious....that is what makes rp, rp.
The intro made me think "Johnny and Mary" by Robert Palmer
Hmm... I like DCFC but this is a bit too uninspired and generic sounding.

Not my favorite. Like a heaping bowl of granulated sugar.
Fist time hearing this band. More please!
gotta luv 'em

Sounds Sonic Youth-y
Welcome back DCFC!!!

SUCKY
Their hit, I Wil Possess Your Heart, so good, it seems to overshadow the rest of the album. The other songs are good too, but they don't seem to live up to the one big song, imo.
I really like "Narrow Stairs" - DCFC's always an interesting band.
love it.
