Yes, the music isn't bad, but McGuinn's singing sounds so strained and contrived that it's almost humorous. It reminds me of the music teacher from Beavis & Butthead, singing the "Lesbian Seagull" song.
LOST IN YOUR EYES (Debbie Gibson)
I get lost, in your eyes
And I feel my spirits rise
And soar like the wind
Is it love that I am in?
I get weak in a glance
Isn't this what's called romance?
And that's what I know
Cause when I'm lost
I can't let go
(Chorus)
I don't mind
Not knowing what I'm headed for
You can take me to the skies
It's like being lost in heaven
When (and) I'm lost in your eyes
I just felt
Don't know why
Something is there
We can't deny
Ooh, when I first knew
Was when I first looked at you
And if I
Can't find my way
If salvation
Seems miles away
Oh, I'll be found
When I'm lost in your eyes
(Repeat Chorus)
I get weak in a glance
Isn't this what's called romance
Oh, I'll be found
When I am lost
In your eyes.
gee, what a disappointment. Rates an 'ugh'.
Ha! I agree with the Christopher Guest reference. This is straight from "A Mighty Wind". The song is awful and sounds contrived and forced.
Nicely said.
No question. Ugh. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.
this one, i don't know, McGuinn ruined it IMHO, he sings it so complaining....
music is ok, but not a great dylan song either.
very repetitive. best forgotten.
You said it muchacho. This is awful.
Agreed.
I expect covers to be as good or better. This one misses the mark.
I miss Mexico.
God Bless The Plant
I do too, but note that his whininess (that doesn't look right) is greatly tempered by the presence of Emmy Lou Harris on vocals.
Can we get a back to back to back to back . . . of every version of this song. I can listen to it for hours!
I personally hate em all.
I've been in the Hotel California they say inspired the song....it is in Mexico, near Cabo.
But I love to hear him talk.
LOL of the Year, my friend.
Double meh...
