Look a-yonder comin'
Comin' down that railroad track
Hey, look a-yonder comin'
Comin' down that railroad track
It's the Orange Blossom Special
Bringin' my baby back
Well, I'm going down to Florida
And get some sand in my shoes
Or maybe Californy
And get some sand in my shoes
I'll ride that Orange Blossom Special
And lose these New York blues
"Say man, when you going back to Florida?"
"When am I goin' back to Florida? I don't know, don't reckon I ever will."
"Ain't you worried about getting your nourishment in New York?"
"Well, I don't care if I do-die-do-die-do-die-do-die."
Hey talk about a-ramblin'
She's the fastest train on the line
Talk about a-travellin'
She's the fastest train on the line
It's that Orange Blossom Special
Rollin' down the seaboard line
Comin' down that railroad track
Hey, look a-yonder comin'
Comin' down that railroad track
It's the Orange Blossom Special
Bringin' my baby back
Well, I'm going down to Florida
And get some sand in my shoes

This song is 5 minutes too long
This is why I subscribe to RP.
(Checks release year) 1971? Wow. This sounds fantastic. The only clue I had that it might be old was the out-of-phase Hammond organ.
1971 was truly a banner year for music.

Wife's uncle was a famous bluegrass fiddle player and I have heard many versions of this over he years. This is pretty good and they are having fun.
Needs to go into my playlist for riding in my railcar!
Haven’t heard Seatrain in (many!) ages. These guys are clearly having a great time and it shines through here. Thanks, Dave.
Wow, a lot of Bluegrass hate here...
Interesting pedigree. Sort of a "sum of the parts is greater than the whole" situation.
This isn't very good, except that...they were experimenting with music. It was expected.
Something sorely lacking today.

Here's the best Radio Station.
To you Mary Love

It sounds as though at any moment, this could break out into the theme from The Benny Hill Show. Oh, looking at the release year, I may have it backwards.
ahh.... memories!
Oh dear Lord, no! At least the people who were forced to listen to this in the 60s-70s had access to good drugs to help numb the pain.

Why do I suddenly have the urge to eat a deep-fried Tweenkie and pork rinds?

What a treat, thanks
Listened as long as I could, but now an instant PSD from this office.
Man, Seatrain. It's been like the 70's since I last heard 'em. Thanks Bill!

Actually this is an edit from the 1990 Canadian released One Way Records CD on CEMA special markets edition. I have loved this version ever since I heard it back when it was new. I love electric fiddle music, ala It's A Beautiful Day, Curved Air, Roxy Music, etc. This is a very inspired cover of this song IMHO.

This is an interesting band that I first encountered in the mid-seventies. Yes I do have all their stuff on
vinyl.
I have a bunch of SeaTrain in my IPod.
These guys were great and the music is in some ways timeless.
And another darned inspired pick from the RP programming team.

I hate to admit that I have 3 SeaTrain LP's still. That makes me ancient. Now if they would just play something really nice of theirs like "Out where the hills".

Oh please, it's Johnny Cash or nothin'.
Outstanding. I had to log in to see if it was The Avetts.
Absolutely Painful!!!!!!!
Well, you are at least 50-something. Yep. I had a Seatrain album too. Showing your age just by saying album. JustJohn wrote:

Really?
What a headache!!!
WTF?? A new low on RP. Wow!!! I just don't have the words to describe how dreadful this sounds. Hackneyed, cliched, tuneless.... like a mutant cat being tortured. You have to be living in the middle of Deliverance country to even think this could be good. Get rid of it. PLEASE!!!!
