The name "Puscifer" is definitely a turn-off, bordering on disgusting. That right there is an automatic three points off. Yeah, I know, rock supergroup, viable message, they own their own clothing line, yadda yadda. Have fun.
I was only going to subtract 1 point for the band name.
I want a washing machine that sounds like this!
Interesting but effective segue: Frankie Goes to Hollywood "Relax" --> this.
I think the mix is not great because the bass seems overly muddy(not enough seperation - and it evolved to being clear as a bell from that at the end of the tune) and the "snare" is a tad too thin for my tastes. And still good. :-)
The doubters will one day wake up and appreciate ALL the work of Maynard James Keenan. Many will not be able to comprehend. How many here really dont understand Mozart's music? (Asks the guy who has no interest in the Beatles.....)
This is why Mr. Keenan has a stalker problem.
Also, rarely can I say this for his work, but I enjoy this piece.
Let me think...
If "Lucifer" means "Bringer of Light," does that mean "Pusifier" means, "Bringer of Pussy?"
How could you object to that?!? Everybody likes cats.
Actually not everyone likes cats. Moreover, I took it to mean Bringer of Pus.

You upset that it's one letter from Luscifer?
And her sullen and aborted currents
Breed tiny monsters
True sailing is dead!
Ditto.
Does this have a drum machine beat only?
Sure sounds that way...
Puscifer and A Perect Circle are so much better then Tool.
You're right about the truth being hard to take, but you about them being better than Tool. The calibre of musicians is what makes the difference IMHO.
I forgot to mention "and crank it". This is fucking incredible..........
INCREDIBLE? That's a stretch.
Puscifer and A Perect Circle are so much better then Tool.
and by " better " you mean ?
In this case "it's ALL GOOd Brah!
Best album tile ever .Right after "Weasels ate my flesh"
Maynard and his 3rd eye : >
Puscifer and A Perect Circle are so much better then Tool.
I don't think you can compare Tool with the other two just because Maynard. Tool is it's own animal and takes some work, but when you get there, it's goooood.
Puscifer and A Perect Circle are so much better then Tool.
I've struggled with this too, but no longer think one is better than the other. Certainly more accessible to a larger audience.
Ditto.

Is that a bass guitar or the low notes on a piano I hear at the beginning of the song?
Please note, I can distinctly the bass guitar later in the song.
Puscifer and A Perect Circle are so much better then Tool.
I feel quite the opposite. I had yet to find anything of MJK's of worth to me until I heard this, which I begrudgingly found that I liked.
OK. Me I love this washing machine song but I will bite.
What are Maynard's best albums? Descending order would be nice; any order would be acceptable.
Yeah, I was on the other side of the room, volume not too loud, and I thought "Holy Crap, a P-Tree song I've not heard before."
Maynard Keenan and Steven Wilson have been around the music business about the same amount of time; it's likely they are familiar with each other's work. They also seem to have similar influences.
Amazing thread. You guys crack me up. I haven't laughed this hard in a while.
Washing machine song? Please inform us. I thought Kate Bush did that one.
Just look down to August comments and older...they'll put a smile on your face and forever change the way you hear
the thumping in this song. :)
keenan has a wicked and somewhat distorted sense of humour(and thats putting it mildly). puscifer is his play on words for Pussy Fur. kinda coincides with his "V is fo Vagina" and "C is for Cunt' discs and songs like 'country boner'
Since this explanation comes from a Rabbi (!), I guess I have to believe you! Wicked...!
Yes... smells good, too...
Haaa...!
Everybody loves Pusci, LA Tsar!
yes, i agree. .. but it will forever be known as the 'washing machine' song to many of us.....:)

I am very concerned about your ears now, Laz...
And your laundry.............

OK, first of all, LOL on the huge deviation from your norm, which definitely speaks loudly about your opinion of this song...
And, second, the washing machine is starting to grate on my nerves...for me, it overwhelms the musicality of the rest of the piece.
Sounds like a washing machine...
It washes my clothes...
Sounds like a washing machine...
It's a pretty creepy and slimy image, reminiscent of dodgy 70s porn flicks. Which would fit in with yer man's SOH going by posts below. I do like the music, though.
shut the fuck up

Yeah. 10. Yep. It's time. Mmm mmm. Good stuff Maynard.
Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.
Yeah. 10. Yep. It's time. Mmm mmm. Good stuff Maynard.
Yep...it's on my pod.
Yeah, I was on the other side of the room, volume not too loud, and I thought "Holy Crap, a P-Tree song I've not heard before."
This just begs for a great sound system and some time to really absorb it.
Ah.....prog is not dead........a sound 8
The show was OUTSTANDING!

I would think the word Lucifer comes into play as well.
CERTAINLY NOT - that much I can insure you!
How much coverage will a dollar buy?

And dunno if the German boy realizes it's also a play on the Biblical name "Lucifer".

Adding 3 points for the band name. You do know where the term "Rock'n'Roll" comes from.... right? And yes -- having fun.
