I'll bury all my children
I'll carry them to death
I'll bury all my children
I'll carry them to death

Oh, to linger in their stories
Exhausted by their weight
My milk is gray and bitter but I'll
Carry them each day

To that day, who-oh
To that day, who-oh
To that day, who-oh
To that day, who-oh

Sometimes I need an 11.
Because of RP I listened to her back catalog. My life is richer now as a result.
Only one song by her on the RP playlist, PLEASE ADD  MORE! Thank You!  PS: I wonder if she ever  listened to  ELP?  She has some classic synthesizerr sounds going on!
Nice!! I never heard of her before.  Thank You RP!
When I was a child I used to obsess on my death, so it doesn't surprise me that a mother would too, and how!

Actually, my last job involved both bubonic plague and barbaric conquests - our cubicles were fashioned out of human bones.  Fortunately I left before the company started downsizing and terminated the remaining employees in a vat of boiling tallow.  Cool tune by the way.

Finally, a bit of humor
I like... 🤗
Somber and tragic, but powerful.

I hear that. But — the song should primarily cater to the musical cheer of your work day? She clearly composed the song about people who have suffered. Its medieval aesthetic makes clear a possible story. Bubonic plague, barbaric conquests, and so on. You know, 90% of human history, which may have nothing to do with your job.

Now that's a cheerful song to start the working week.

Sometime a bad song is just a bad song.

Like this one.
Shades of early Laurie Anderson
Just watched "DARK"  on Netflix.   German with English dubbing.   German language or technology makes the English dubbing look almost seamless.   The point is, it's a story about time, time travel, and the illusion of linear perception of time.    Takes place in Germany in 3 time periods, 2019, 1986, and 1953.   Thank the German aesthetic sensibility for this kulchur disruption. Funeral for My Future Children would be a perfect fit in this series.

Greetings.  Just now hearing this song and seeing your greeting.  Hoping the best for you there.

strong and beautiful follow-up to Zep's Thank you!  cosmic : )
Joplin, with a clear soaring voice,no screeching, no rawness. More!

Whoa.  That was as deep a crossfade as I've heard here... Zep's "Thank YOU" into this.  It worked!.  I'm smiling Bill!

Yes indeed !  Made me come in and check the list to see who this is.  8 first listen.

Thanks for pointing to the video, I think her voice and the arrangement works better in the video.
NPR Write Up and Live Recording (video)

She plays the organ...
Thank you Mr. Goldsmith for a most excellent choice and a mesmerizing segue from Thank You
Cracked me up - thanks!

Hey Bill - Interesting transition from the previous Led Zep song :-)
Could have sworn this was Neko Case.

Like the condom maker said, escorting reporters around his new factory, "If I had a son, all this would be his some day!"

"Finish"?
I love the melody and arrangement of this song - the lyrics, though, are relentlessly dark and bleak, almost makes me want to listen to some Abba as an antidote.

I did say almost...

Hand it to her - she separates herself from the crowd.
Ear catching. Though with a morbid literary preoccupation.
I checked the playlist for the new Neko Case tune... and learned it's somebody else.  It's "Decent" either way.
It was promising until the vocals started.

{#Naughty}  Just to clarify things....the only kind of masturbation allowed on the RP comment board is mental masturbation....

They should be so proud (good grief) :^ /

You might be firing blanks for all you know

Thought it was Nekko.....gives me chills and gets a bump up to a 9!
got my attention...i would listen again
like it {#Roflol}
Great segue from Led Zeppelin!
I like it. Not party or exuberant, but I like it. Play it again, Bill.
and the award for most depressing song title goes to....
Don't care for her voice AT ALL
Couldn't listen to it not what happened in Connecticut
Jolly little number!    {#Rolleyes}

There is something haunting about it though. 7
...i just reviewed her discography and there's definitely a morbid theme running throughout - for what it's worth, though, this strikes me as an uplifting, celebratory piece...

  1. "Something Is Missing"
  2. "Gloomy Sunday"
  3. "Move On"
  4. "Track of Time"
  5. "Singing From the Grave"
  6. "Lost at Sea"
  7. "Old Beauty/Du kan nu dö"
  8. "I am Leaving"
  9. "Epitaph of Theodor"
  10. "Deathbed"
  11. "Mountains Crave"
  12. "Goodbye"
  13. "Red Sun"
  14. "Epitaph of Daniel"
  15. "No Body"
  16. "Liturgy of Light"
  17. "Funeral For My Future Children"

...perhaps thematically appropriate for someone from gothenburg?..

Yeah! It's like Neko with a Hieronymus Bosch vibe.
...very cool!..

...i, too, was struck by the neko case resemblance at first blush...
I thought this was Neko, at first. Sounds like it really was recorded in a church.
The album cover is about as creepy as the title.
..i bet lyrics would clarify things..(i searched/couldn't find)..

..anyways, as depressing as song titles get, it's all about
the whole, no?..me likey this whole..
I find myself really liking this. 8 for now, and I think the more I listen to it, the more it'll grow on me.
Nope.
Horrible intro and background music......marginal on her voice....so far I don't like it......
A little weird as we travelled along. The "whooping" and whatever else she was doing vocally. But ... she's a blonde bombshell. That'll go well.
Somewhat hollow, but resonant.  Nice pipes.
Wow. Depressing title but great lyrical delivery.
Where does this depressing title come from? {#Eek}
